Pippa DT: Fabric Mobile Phone Case

Pop art red

I will use a needle and thread and possibly pins.

I will sew at a table with a thimble. I will also use a safe use of sissors and take care when using a needle.

Cotton fabric and felt to line the inside. A flap on the top and a large button on the proportioned size and place. 

I shall make sure it is spongy and soft. Strong so it wont fall apart, and be able to protect my phone.

This mobile phone case fits nicely and is nice and light weight and cool. However , it is not very thick, so it might tear. Also, it does not cover the front, so it would not protect the front from damage.

The phone cover presented is mostly achieves mist of the standards given. It is spongey, and likely to soak up water without effecting the phone. It is reasonably thick and will take more than a jagged surface to tear. The thread is unlikely to come of the button and is altogether a presentable phone case.

Using Stitching to Join Different Materials:

The case needs to keep the phone from becoming scratched, cracked or damaged. The fabric needs to fit and it needs to be strong and thick, so it does not break the phone. It needs to stay together and be durable. It also needs to keep the phone cool so it does not heat up and be light weight. It will have to be easy too carry, and be a usual size for a pocket or bag.

To protect a mobile phone from scratches and damages when travelling in a pocket or bag.

The cover presented has a decently thick fabric, so it would protect from tears, and covers the whole phone. It has a fastening so the phone cannot slide out, but if you wanted to take a photo or use your phone, you could not, as it covers the camera and front.

On this case, the material would certainly protect from damage as the material is thick and spongy. Although, it would not protect the top of the phone as it does not fit, and there is not any fastening so the phone would slide out, it it was hanging, dropped or held upside down. 

The phone case that Pippa made is durable and would probably protect the phone if it was to dropped, however, the phone case is not waterproof .

The button and thread are pretty strong and should resist coming undone

The case has been measured to the correct size and the phone fits.

First off, I found out what size my phone is and measured a pattern. A while after,I found a strong and spongey material. Next, I took the pattern, placed it on the fabric and cut out the shape. After I cut it out that , I went on to try and find a thread that goes with it. Then, I got a needle and threaded it and started sewing the sides. Once I had, I turned it the other way round as that is the outside. Then, I added a button, made a loop for it to go in, and sewed it on the lid. Lastly, I cut out a P and sewed it on for the finishing touches.
