Parts/ Organs
the brain, spinal cord, and a complex network of nerves all make up the nervous system.
Functions
Brain: responses, sensation, movement, emotions, communication, thought processing, and memory.
Spinal Cord: carries messages back and forth between the brain and the nerves that run throughout the body.
Nerves:carry electrical impulses between your brain and the rest of your body.
Threats
*Blood supply problems (vascular disorders). (if blood flow is interrupted, neurological function is compromised.)
*Injuries (trauma), especially injuries to the head and spinal cord. (push the nervous system outside its ability to regulate itself.)

Facts
*The body has billions of nerve cells.
*The brain uses more of the body's energy than the rest of the organs, using over 20% of the energy reserves in the body.
