The Slithering Snake

Soon they hung out everyday. Shelly and Snake got along well. But one day...

The only good thing that came out of it was he had no trouble or competition to find food.

When the parrots flew away, the bananas would fall from the tree, so he ate the bananas.

“Bam! Scatter! Swoosh!” All of a sudden, a million animals came out of the bushes and trees to grab that one banana.

When she looked up, the parrots were gone. But parrots came back everyday criticizing Snake. Shelly was too scared to stand up to them.

“Better luck I next time. You’ll definitely get it. Ha Ha!” All the other animals laughed.

After a long day of delicious berries and bananas, Snake would go to his own secret lake and was himself off.

The parrots saw Shelly and Snake together. So they swooped down when Snake left to get berries, and said to Shelly....

Shelly sobbed even more. “Don’t cry it’s ok you’re still my friend remember? Best friends forever!” Snake said trying to cheer her up.

“Right friends forever!” Shelly exclaimed. They both ate the coconuts and then have been friends ever since. Just remember don’t judge a book by its cover.

Sad and alone, Snake was slithering his way to his secrets lake, but something caught his eye that made him pause.

“I cant believe you are friends with him!” The first parrot said with a mean grunt.

”Yeah he’s gonna eat you! Watch out!” The second one exclaimed with a scared voice.

This hurt snakes feelings so much. But he got used to it.

There it was. Snake has seen this before, but never so sad.

The parrots flying off a tree to another, and a banana fell.

One day, in the Amazon there was a snake. Everyone was scared of him. The parrots, bunnies, squirrels and critters would say “Watch out the scary slithering snake is here!”

Once the parrots flew away after teasing Snake a few coconuts fell. Shelly knew what was going to happen next.

Many, many different types of animals came from the trees and bushes.

Sooner then Shelly knew it, she was being glided away with all the animals pushing their way to the coconuts. Quickly Snake slithered as fast as he could to Shelly and let out a huge “hsssssss!”

“Today coconuts fell from the tree when they flew away.” Shelly said her tears forming a river. It’s ok I just wish you would of told me,” Snake said with sadness in his eyes. 

After all animals left, Snake slithered up to the turtle and said “I’m so sorry that happened. I know how cruel animals can be.”

Shelly ignored their mean comments. She new Snake would never hurt her. But when the parrots came back once more she thought “I cant just sit around and let them tell this to everyone.”

A very fast squirrel grabbed it. “Ha Ha Ha! The bunnies and squirrels will never be as fast as me,” he teased. Then an animal Snake has never seen before, so brave tried to take food competing against others.

There in the crowd was a turtle! The slowest animal ever to be seen in the Amazon.

This happened for weeks. The parrots would warn her then fly away, without Snake knowing. This time when Snake went to get berries, the parrots came again. “Gosh girl you gotta get away from him!” The first parrot exclaimed.

“What is this” the fast squirrel said. “A turtle!” He exclaimed. The fast squirrel teased and laughed.

The forest was still moving, but now they weren’t moving towards the coconuts. All the animals were running away from Snake as fast as they could and laying there in the dust was Shelly. “What happened?” Snake questioned. “I’m so sorry! For weeks now the parrots have been teasing you,” Shelly said crying.

With a jump the turtle screamed, “Oh uh yeah,” she said. “I’m Shelly.”

“I’m Snake,” Snake said. “You don’t happen to have food do you? I’m starving.”No but I know where berries are.” So Snake showed Shelly where the berries are.
