My heat experiment
Introduction
This heat experiment involved collecting 3 different types of insulators (Tinfoil, cotton wool and bubble wrap). We then tested which one was the best insulator.
step 1
The first thing we did was attach the three types of insulators to the cups
We made sure that each cup was covered with an equal amount of each material
This was done by measuring with a ruler and cutting the material carefully with a scissors
We then placed a thermometer in each cup
Step 2
We then added warm water to each of the three cups
We started the timer right away
We recorded the temperature drop of the water in each cup after 1 minute, 3 minutes and 5 minutes
Step 3
Based on our findings we then had to figure out which of the cups had the biggest temperature drop
The cup that had the biggest temperature drop meant it was covered with the worst insulator.
In the same way, the cup with the smallest temperature drop meant it was covered with the best insulator
