What are SNAPS?

The Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) defines a protected area as a defined geographic area, which is designated, regulated and managed to achieve specific conservation objectives. Protected areas meet several objectives, among them are: the conservation of natural biodiversity, guaranteeing the protection of environmental services and the sustainable development of local communities. On the other hand, protected areas are important for scientific research, environmental education and the well-being of the population.
Types of SNAP
Snap Ecuador. The SNAP is made up of four subsystems: the Heritage of State Natural Areas (PANE), the Protected Areas of Sectional Governments (APGS), the Community, Indigenous and Afro-Ecuadorian Protected Areas (APC) and the Private Protected Areas ( APPRI).
SNAP conservation plan
1.- You can do mingas in the woods and on trails.
2.- We must respect the rules of the park
3.- We must not harm the ecosystems.
4.- people should go to a safe area if it happens
5.- Fire must be avoided in forests
