NIKOLA TESLA 

Tesla’s work then shifted to turbines and other projects. In 1915 he was severely disappointed when a report that he and Edison were to share the Nobel Prize proved false.

He also did research in mechanical engineering, for example in 1913 he patented a turbine with a multitude of thin discs and without blades (Tesla turbine). 

HYDRO POWER PLANT KRKA

Jaruga Hydroelectric Power Plant is a hydroelectric power plant on river Krka, located in Šibenik-Knin County, in central Dalmatia, Croatia

A turbine, two generators (42 Hz, 550 kW) and a transformer made by the Hungarian company Ganz were built under the Skradinski Buk waterfall.

X-rays In 1887, Nikola Tesla began his research on X-rays, joining a group of scientists who had been studying the subject for some time, such as Heinrich Hertz and Johann Wilhelm Hittorf. For his experiments, Tesla used vacuum tubes and high voltage. He managed to generate radiation strong enough that he could observe its evil effect on living beings. He also discovered that cathode rays allow him to see the interior of man, and he sent his photographs to Wilhelm Rontgen, who at the beginning of the twentieth century received the Nobel Prize in Physics.

NIKOLA TESLA - NIKOLA'S INVENTIONS

Wireless electricity transfer Thanks to his work, he managed to light two hundred lamps, which were inserted into the ground at a distance of forty kilometers from him. Unfortunately, these experiments were full of many side effects that even a genius could not stop, for example, people walking along the trajectory of energy transmission could get the impression that a powerful thunderstorm had broken out on the ground on which they were treading. Tesla was several generations ahead of its time, but its research work and experiments laid the groundwork for the solutions we use today.

Radio Before his lab burned down, Tesla was working on developing a radio intended to transmit a signal fifty miles. Prior to its completion, however, another gentleman received a patent for a similar radio design in England. Had he succeeded, Nikola Tesla’s invention would have surpassed the Brit’s invention in strength.

Hydroelectric Pow The Niagara Falls Commission selected Tesla to design the hydroelectric power generator at Niagara Falls using his alternating power technology. Considered the first power plant, Tesla’s technology was used throughout the world to provide electricity to the masses.

Neon Lamp The neon lamp (or sign) was Tesla’s modification of existing neon light technology to form words and designs. Neon signs continue to exist worldwide, lighting up bars, casinos, hotels, and other signs along the roadway.

The Shadowgraph The Shadowgraph is another name for x-rays, but Tesla’s term is actually more depictive of the process. An x-ray creates a silhouette of the area captured by passing radioactive waves through the human body. Although the invention was initially developed by Rontgen, Tesla made improvements to the technique to render clearer images.

The Jaruga is one of the oldest power generating facilities in the world.

Its present location dates back to 1903, when it was moved from a nearby original power station built in 1895.

HYDRO POWER PLANT ON NIAGARA

The&nbsp;Niagara river&nbsp;is one of the world's greatest sources of hydroelectric power. Water was first diverted from the Canadian side of the Niagara River for generating electricity in 1893.

The Niagara Power Visitors Center, located four miles downstream of Niagara Falls, features interactive exhibits about hydroelectricity and its history in the Niagara Frontier.

 Nikola attended elementary school and gymnasium in Croatia. And later he studied on Technical University of Graz (1875-1878).

Nikola lived in the USA most of his life.

Tesla died on the 7th of January 1943. But he is still one of the greatest minds that ever lived and his inventions are one of the greatest of all time.

Thanks to Nikola Tesla, the first European hydroelectric power plant was built in Croatia. It was put into operation two days after, according to Nikola Tesla's patents, the world's first hydroelectric power plant at Niagara Falls was put into operation.

In 1885, Tesla founded his own Tesla Electric Light and Manufacturing Company in New York to produce electric arches, and in 1887, the Tesla Electric Company, with a laboratory in which he first constructed AC electric motors.

In the autumn of the same year, he applied for the first patent on the production and transmission of multiphase alternating currents and their application for efficient operation of alternating electric motors.

Nikola Tesla was an inventor and engineer working in the field of electrical engineering and mechanical engineering. He was born on July 10, 1856 in Smiljan, in Croatia. Nikola Tesla is of Serb origin. His parents were Milutin Tesla and Georgina Tesla.

His father was an Orthodox priest and his mother was unschooled but highly intelligent. As he matured, he displayed remarkable imagination and creativity as well as a poetic touch.

In 1882 Tesla went to work in Paris for the Continental Edison Company, and, while on assignment to Strassburg in 1883, he constructed, after work hours, his first induction motor. Tesla sailed for America in 1884, arriving in New York with four cents in his pocket, a few of his own poems, and calculations for a flying machine. He first found employment with Thomas Edison, but the two inventors were far apart in background and methods, and their separation was inevitable.

TESLA'S HYDRO POWER PLANT ON NIAGARA

A small 2,200 kilowatt plant was built just above the Horseshoe Falls to power an electric railway between the communities of Queenston and Chippawa.
