'In school we have been following the 'EYFS Home Learning Projects' too. We have enjoyed the 'Finger Fits' and learning the stories and songs of 'The Little Red Hen' and 'The 3 Billy Goats'. This week we have loved designing and making trolls. We also made a Zoo, when we recycled the story of 'The Little Red Hen'. When we made our Zoo, we linked this to our topic work, thinking about animals and their habitats. The children also really enjoyed making a penguin card, like their friends at home! We have been doing the White Rose Maths and we particularly enjoyed making playdough, measuring and exploring capacity through water play.&nbsp; Our favourite part of the week is assembly on a Monday and Friday, when we get to see all of our friends! Mrs Garrad, Mrs Sheppard, Jo and Kerrianne have been absolutely blown away by the home learning you have shared with us so far on Tapestry. We have been doing a winter/cold themed topic and several children have shared some wonderful ice explorations both indoors and out. One child explored how to melt ice with warm water after she found some on a wintery walk. We have been learning all about numbers 1-8 in maths this week and we loved seeing your number searches while you have been out and about! The children have also been exploring measuring, weight and capacity in their homes, which has looked great fun! In literacy we have been learning the stories of 'The Little Red Hen' and 'The Three Billy Goats Gruff'. We have seen wonderful videos of the children re-telling and stepping out these stories, as well as story maps and super writing too! Mrs Garrad has loved meeting with you in small groups, so you can talk with your friends, listen to stories and play games. These will continue to be held every Wednesday, please look for the 'Pastoral Group' link on Tapestry.

Although life is strange at the moment and we are not all together we still have so much to celebrate. There has been some fantastic home learning going on since we came back. Mr Edwards tells me that there have even been some pasties made at home this week! We are so impressed with what you are able to do under such difficult circumstances! Next week we will all be starting the Cornish Lockdown games which we can all join in with both at school and at home – Look out for Miss Sheppard’s video at the end of this booklet! Next week is also Children’s Mental Health week which is even more relevant to us all this year. The theme is ‘Express Yourself’ and this will be the topic of both our Monday morning’s assembly and lots of the work for the week. As part of this we will be having ‘Screen Free Wednesday’ when all learning will be away from computer screens. Welcome to the Virtual Cornwall School Games 3.0!

Bude Primary Academy – Infants are taking part in the Virtual Cornwall School Games 3.0! When we took part in the Summer Lockdown virtual School Games, children at home and in school took part, working together to be awarded an amazing 10 Golds, 5 Silvers and 1 Bronze!!!!! It was a lot of fun with virtual dance offs, flags and ceremonies, it brought a lot of laughter and fun both to adults and children, drawing us all together…we hope these games will be even BETTER! On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday Your Class Teacher will upload a video demonstration of the days’ activity, as well as the link to activity card. Have a go at seeing how many times you can complete the challenge in 1 min and submit your highest score to your class teacher by 12pm the following day. Please only submit 1 score for each activity. You will get an extra 2 points if you submit a video or photo of you doing the activity to your class page with your points!
