In a dark room, a person was sitting on a chair waiting for somebody. Then, the door opened and another person came in the room.”Did you get it from the lab?” The first person asked. “Yeah, it’s in here.” The second person replied as he pulled three bottles of purple liquid from his pocket. “That’s all you got?” The first person asked. “ Hey! It’s pretty hard to steal it when there’s a security guard trying to get me!” The second person replied angrily. “Okay then, tomorrow you have to find a way to get it inside the water system”. The first person ordered. Suddenly, people shouting could be heard.”Quick! I think the thief is in the storage room!” A man shouted. “Okay, let’s move.” The first person said calmly and the other person nodded. When the door was opened, three people looked around and saw nothing. “So he’s not in here?” One of them asked. “No, he escaped.” Another one replied pointing at the shattered glass leading to outside.

“Goal!” The crowd cheered as Samuel scored a goal. Samuel felt proud as he went back to his position. Just then Rick, a bully he met at school appeared out of nowhere and tackled him to the ground. The ground suddenly turned into water as he plumaged down into the ocean. “Samuel! Get up or your going to be late for school!” Samuel got up, changed his clothes but couldn’t find his hearing aids so he went to the kitchen where his mom was cooking breakfast. “Good morning Samuel!” said his mom tiredly. “Good morning mom,” Samuel said as he slid into his chair for a usual breakfast of bacon and scrambled eggs. “Hey mom, have you seen my hearing aids? They disappeared when I woke up to find them.” His mom sighed. “Well I can’t help you find it because I have to take a rest. Last night your father was not feeling very well so I had to send him to the hospital so now I’m very tired, you can go to school without it right?” His mother asked as Samuel finished his breakfast. “Well, without it I can’t hear very well but I’ll be fine.” Samuel replied. “Okay then, have a nice day at school honey!” She said as she kissed him on the head. Then, Samuel took his backpack and headed straight to Stewart middle school.

Samuel was standing on the school entrance. This was his first day at his new school, he did go to a tour of the school last week, but he was still very nervous. As he walked slowly into the school grounds, he spotted Rick , the bully he met at the new student tour. He was one the people who had been to the school and volunteered to help the new students find their home room and where the the other classes are. Samuel was assigned to Rick and he gave Samuel a “welcome to school” punch on the shoulder. Today, Rick saw Samuel instantly as Samuel entered the school. Rick smiled as he walked towards Samuel. Without even thinking, Samuel ran towards the entrance into the school. As soon as he reached his locker, he felt a tap on his shoulder. “Hey, where do you think your going?” A gruff voice said. Samuel spun around and saw Rick smiling at him. Samuel tried to escape but Rick grabbed his shirt and pinned him on Samuel’s locker. ”do you think you can just run away from me and escape? Well, you have to know that I can find people very fast so you have to remember to... ” He didn’t finished because another person’s voice shouted. “Hey Rick, why don’t you go away and stop bullying the new kid!” Rick turned around to see a boy carrying some notebooks.” Fine Bill, as long as you give me that sandwich at lunch.” Rick replied as he patted the boy and left. The then turned to see Samuel. “He’s always bullying people…anyways I’m Bill, what’s your name?” Bill asked calmly. “Samuel.” Samuel answered as they walked into the class just as the school bell rang.

“Hello everyone, I’m the substitute teacher for the next few weeks. Your teacher Mr.Calvin is unfortunately sick and had to go to the hospital to recover.” The substitute said as he wrote his name on the board.” You may call me Mr. Costello.” As Samuel’s classes went by, he notice that most of the teachers were sick like Mr. Calvin. Then, it was lunch time. “I’ll meet you at the cafeteria, I just need to get something from my locker.” Bill said to Samuel. “I’ll meet you there later then.” Samuel replied as Bill went away. Ten minutes later, Bill was nowhere to be seen. As Samuel finished his lunch, he started to look for Bill. When he reached Bill’s locker, it was opened . Curious, Samuel to a look inside. Inside was all of Bill’s study textbooks and folders, but at the bottom, there was a metal box that had a sticky note on it that read: samples of the potion, study it in the lab tomorrow. Samuel tried to open it but it required a key to open. Suddenly, he felt a tap on his shoulder. “What are you doing?” A voice asked. Samuel turned around to see a short student with glasses.” Is that your locker?” He asked. “No.” Samuel replied.” Well, stop looking at other people’s lockers and get going!” Samuel felt relieved that he wasn’t in trouble. Then, a voice that must be Bill cut in. “Hey Simon, why are you bullying Samuel? He has my permission to open my locker, you can go now.” Samuel and Simon both turned around to see Bill coming. “Well?” Bill asked. “Well, we all should be going now, we have until approximately 43 seconds until class starts.” Simon replied as he repeatedly checked his watch. “Come on then Samuel, we don’t want to be late.” Bill said as he quickly locked his locker and speed walked with Samuel. As they were rushing to class Samuel asked. “Bill, what is that metal box you had in your locker?” “Oh, it’s… it’s just…well something I need to use tomorrow, you don’t really have to worry.” But as they reach the class, Samuel somehow thought that it wasn’t true.

After school, Samuel walked slowly back home. He felt exhausted on his first day and want to take a rest. When he reached home, he tried to open the door, it was locked. With a sigh, he pressed a button on the door. A robotic eye came out instantly. “Please stand still, owner scan in progress.” A green light flashed in the robotic eye. “Scan complete, door unlocked.” When he entered inside, he sat on the living room couch and began thinking about why Bill had lied to him. Was he hiding something from him? A ringing noise of the phone interrupted his thoughts. When he picked the phone up he heard his mom’s voice.” Samuel, I’m right now in the hospital. Your dad is feeling even worse so I went there to accompany him. You have to come right now… there’s been… your father want’s to talk to you. The room is 4096.” “Wait, what do you mean?” But the phone already ended. Without disobeying, Samuel went to the garage, got his bicycle and set off. When he got to room 4096, he was so shocked. His father was sitting in bed covered head to toe with purple dots. “Samuel…” he could barely talk. Samuel quickly came to his side. “Samuel… father is not going to be with you anymore.” He rasped. “No, dad… you—you can’t die!” Samuel started to cry. “It’s okay, everything’s going to be alright…” His eyes were slowly closing.” There’s always hope… I believe that you can find a cure… a cure to stop the disease… the unknown disease that will wipe our whole human population!” He coughed the last words as he slowly closed his eyes. His heart wasn’t beating. “Dad!” Samuel cried. A few minutes later he left the room. Samuel felt so sad and angry that he decided to take a walk. He left the hospital and went into the national park. As he was walking, he suddenly bumped into someone. “Hey! Can you be more careful?” A girls voice said. He looked down to see a girl who he thought he had seen in his classes. “Hey, I think I’ve seen you before…” He said to her.” Of course you have, I’m Harper and you must be that Samuel who was new to the school. You look very sad today, what happened?” So Samuel told her what had happened and in the end, even she started to cry. “You know… my grandpa is a retired astronomer and he still has his old space ship. Maybe if I ask him, you can borrow it and use it to find a cure!” Right after Harper said that Samuel felt very optimistic.” If that is possible then we have to do it! Come on, let go!” Samuel said as he lead the way out of the park.

Later, they came back. “Okay Samuel, we have to get to work, the unknown disease could spread more during next weeks.” He said as he led the way to a lab room. In the room it shows all of the astronomy tools and a telescope. But there, in the middle, was a small space ship that is covered with dust. Harper’s grandfather walked limply to it blew some of the dust away. “I haven’t used this for a long time, but it will do for you. After a few minutes, Samuel started to climb into the ship. “Won’t you come with me?” Samuel asked. “Sorry, I still have schoolwork.” Harper replied. “And I’m too old.” Her grandpa replied. So Samuel went inside the ship. The ship started to rise and with one movement, ship zoomed out of Eboxi. A computer voice started to speak. “Searching nearest planet… found, estimated time… 3 hours. One hour later Samuel was reading one of the magazines when suddenly he heard a loud explosion and the computer voice said “ Alert! He instantly jumped up from what he was lying on. “It’s about time you woke up.” The girl said as she poured and bought over a cup of green liquid. “Here, drink this.” She ordered. “W-why?” He stammered. “Look at your arms.” So he did and to his shock he saw purple dots on him. “Ahhh!” He yelled as he quickly drank the cup. To his surprise, the purple dots faded away as soon as he drank them. “What are these?” He asked. “Those? Oh, just a cure for that sickness…” She didn’t even finish her sentence when Samuel said excitedly, “That’s the cure? Oh yes!” “What, what are you talking about?” So Samuel told her all about what happened. “Well, I can help you pick the berries and make them into the juice.
