Welcome to our newsletter Friday 6th October

Dear Parents and Carers, Reception had a wonderful trip to The Lost Gardens of Heligan this week. They enjoyed exploring the gardens, looking at how different foods grow, they observed the farm animals and explored the jungle.&nbsp;In literacy the children have been re-telling the story of 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears'. In Maths they have been working on repeating patterns and finding what comes next on the patterns and creating their own patterns.&nbsp; This week in Year 1 the children have been learning all about how life has changed since their parents and grandparents were young. They have looked at photographs of their families from the past and explored old toys. In Maths the children have been ordering groups of objects by quantity. In SCARF they have been thinking about feelings and making their own colour monsters. In Music the children have been learning about tempo and practising keeping a steady beat. Year 2 had a fantastic adventure in Cardinham Woods, looking for signs of animal habitats and trails.&nbsp;They learned how the woodlands habitat provides food, water shelter and camouflage for the animals living there. They explored the woods and made animal homes using the natural resources.&nbsp; Miss K Bullock Head of School

This week the nursery children have enjoyed creating spiders and webs in a variety of ways. Alongside this, Bumblebees have been busy engaging in lots of games and activities requiring them to sort items by their size or colour. They have been working really hard on developing their sharing and turn-taking abilities during these tasks.

Reporting Absences If your child is going to be absent from school due to illness, then please inform the office before 9am in the morning, and let us know why your child is going to be absent, and when you expect them to return. You may either phone the office on (01726) 812006 and leave a message or alternatively send an email to hello@biscoveyinfants.org.uk Please make sure that you child is getting to school on time. The gates will shut at 8.45am prompt.

School gates are open between 8.35 - 8.45am After 8.45 when gates are closed your child will be marked by the office as late (L) 8.50am onwards your child will be marked as late after register closes (U)
