Welcome to our newsletter Friday 8th March

Dear Parents and Carers, This week Year One have created some fantastic innovations of 'After the storm.' In Maths they have started to look at length and height and have enjoyed comparing items around the classroom using the correct vocabulary. In RE the children have&nbsp;created their own palm leaves and&nbsp;continued to think about how they would greet a special visitor to school, focussing on the story of Jesus entering Jerusalem. In PE the children have continued to practise their net and wall skills and enjoyed a game of balloon tennis.&nbsp; This week Reception have done some wonderful story writing of 'After the storm.' In Maths they have revisited one more and one less thinking about how each number changes as they add more or take one away. In SCARF the children have been focusing on resilience thinking about a time when they found something tricky but did not give up! To celebrate St Pirans day the children made play dough pasties, Cornish flags and enjoyed a yummy jam and cream scone for tuck.&nbsp; Year Two have been measuring, writing stories, dressing up and being creative this week. In PE they practised their rallying skills. Friday was a huge celebration of fitness- everyone enjoyed being active and making an investment in our future health.&nbsp; A great day was had by all today as the children were involved in different physical activities. The children loved their sponsored cycle. Thank you for all that have donated towards the Connect 40 Challenge so far. Well done also to all of the staff that took part in the relay today. This week the Nursery children have been exploring size. Using the story of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ as inspiration, the children have been busy creating their own short and tall beanstalks in a variety of ways. Outside, the children have been comparing the size of their own feet to some colourful footprints.

Reporting Absences If your child is going to be absent from school due to illness, then please inform the office before 9am in the morning, and let us know why your child is going to be absent, and when you expect them to return. You may either phone the office on (01726) 812006 and leave a message or alternatively send an email to hello@biscoveyinfants.org.uk Please make sure that you child is getting to school on time. The gates will shut at 8.45am prompt.

School gates are open between 8.35 - 8.45am After 8.45 when gates are closed your child will be marked by the office as late (L) 8.50am onwards your child will be marked as late after register closes (U)
