Welcome to our newsletter Friday 29th September

Dear Parents and Carers, This week Reception have been boxing up the story of 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears'. They have been talking about the beginning, middle and end of the story. In Maths the children have been learning how to sort objects by type. They have been thinking about whether they have sorted items by size, colour or shape.&nbsp;The children have enjoyed continuing to explore the outdoor area and have been especially enjoying the music area. This week Year 1 have been using the language of greater and fewer when comparing amounts in Maths. The children have done a great job at writing character description from their class story. In PE the children have found lots of different ways to pass the ball to a partner. In SCARF this week they have shared the colour monster story and talked about different feelings. This week Year 2 have been learning about invasion games. They have been playing bench ball in teams, developing their skills to think about defending, intercepting and attacking an opponents area. In Art, they practised being sculptors, thinking of the work of Barbara Hepworth and using her techniques to carve a mini sculpture out of soap. There are certainly some budding artists in our midst. The highlight of the week for Bumblebees class has been creating their own giant spider for the class display. The children worked hard to cut the newspaper and stick it on to the balloon. They then painted it black and stuffed some tights with tissue to create the legs. Great teamwork Bumblebees!

Notifying change of circumstances Please contact the school office if there are any changes to you or your child's personal details (i.e name, address, telephone numbers, emergency contact&nbsp;details, medical&nbsp;details, email address or relationship change). Reporting Absences If your child is going to be absent from school due to illness, then please inform the office before 9am in the morning, and let us know why your child is going to be absent, and when you expect them to return. You may either phone the office on (01726) 812006 and leave a message or alternatively send an email to hello@biscoveyinfants.org.uk Please make sure that you child is getting to school on time. The gates will shut at 8.45am prompt.

School gates are open between 8.35 - 8.45am After 8.45 when gates are closed your child will be marked by the office as late (L) 8.50am onwards your child will be marked as late after register closes (U)
