Welcome to our newsletter Friday 28th June

Dear Parents and Carers, This week Reception have been looking at patterns and have been continuing a range of repeating patterns and circular patterns. In Literacy this week we have been learning the story of Monkey Puzzle and have been writing character descriptions. We have been exploring some new resources in our outdoor area and have enjoyed working in pairs to play a range of ball games. In PE the children have been practising their athletic skills&nbsp;and thoroughly enjoyed the egg and spoon races. This week Year One have started to learn their new class story 'Monkey Puzzle'. The children have been learning about possessive apostrophes, using them to write sentences about the characters from the story. In Maths the children have been learning about time, linked to their daily routines and the days of the week. In DT the children have designed their own moving animals, thinking about different craft materials that they can use. Next week, the children will be making their animals, we look forward to seeing their creations.&nbsp; Year Two have been enjoying using the measuring jugs to check the capacity of different jugs and bottles. Owls have been excited to fill their marble jar and loved having a teddy bears picnic to celebrate. In Geography they have been learning the names of the continents and oceans of the world. The new story is "The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch" so next week they will be retelling stories and writing their own.&nbsp; Miss K Bullock Head of School

This week the Nursery children have been learning the story of ‘The Gruffalo’. They have enjoyed exploring different characters from the story. In SCARF this week, the children have learn about different stages of life that people go through. The Honeybees children have been exploring paints this week. They used a variety of mark making resources to make different marks and patterns.&nbsp;

Reporting Absences If your child is going to be absent from school due to illness, then please inform the office before 9am in the morning, and let us know why your child is going to be absent, and when you expect them to return. You may either phone the office on (01726) 812006 and leave a message or alternatively send an email to hello@biscoveyinfants.org.uk Please make sure that you child is getting to school on time. The gates will shut at 8.45am prompt.

School gates are open between 8.35 - 8.45am After 8.45 when gates are closed your child will be marked by the office as late (L) 9am onwards your child will be marked as late after register closes (U)
