Head of School Welcome
Dear Parents and Carers,

This week Reception have enjoyed a range of activities linked to our beach trip last week. They enjoyed making their own boats and had lots of fun racing them in the water. They created their own beach artwork and practised their handwriting patterns in the sand. In Literacy this week the children have been writing a recount from their visit to the beach. The children have been looking at subtraction this week in Maths and have been using a range of resources to support them in solving subtraction problems.

This week Year One have kickstarted their Geography learning with a virtual flight to London. The children enjoyed exploring London and learning all about some of the landmarks. In Maths they have started to look at fractions, recognising and finding half of an object and an amount. In PE the children have continued to practise their striking and fielding skills, playing group games.

Year Two have been learning all about Superhero nurses this week. They have learnt about Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole and the impact these women had on hospitals today. In Maths they have been learning to tell the time and have been practising counting in fives to help with this. In PE the practicing for May Day dancing continues with lots of laughter and fun being had along the way! Superhero vehicles continue to be under construction in DT and Art.
