Welcome to our newsletterFriday 19th April
Head of School Welcome
Dear Parents and Carers,
This week Reception have been learning their new class story 'Lost and Found' by Oliver Jeffers. The children went on a hunt to find the little lost penguin and were very surprised to find him on our school field. The children then enjoyed engaging in a range of art activities to show the characters in the story. In PE this week the children have started their new topic of striking and fielding. In Maths this week the children have been learning the numbers 11, 12 and 13, counting accurately and looking at patterns within these numbers.
This week Year One have loved learning their new class story 'Lost and Found'. The children enjoyed searching the school grounds to find the penguin from the story and creating beautiful class displays of the story. In Maths the children have been learning to count in 2s and 10s and making groups of items to count using their multiplication skills. In Computing the children have started to explore how to type on the Chromebooks. In RE we have introduced our question 'Is Shabbat important to Jewish children?' The children have been thinking about what they do on each day of the week.
Year Two started the week as superheroes. They continued with fractions- finding halves and quarters of quantities. In PE they were keen to practise fielding and striking skills, delighting in knocking over the cricket stumps with accurate underarm bowling! Art has also been great fun, designing vehicles for superheroes. Playtime has been great too- in the sunshine, a rare treat at the moment!
