Our focus value for the next 4 weeks is 'Gratitude' The children will be learning this value in all lessons. If you have any examples from home of your child showing Gratitude we would love for you to share this with us on Tapestry.

For showing gratitude towards her partner in PE when her partner showed her which move was next.

For showing her gratitude with the use of beautiful manners at all times.

For being able to confidently explain to others how to show gratitude.

Welcome to our newsletter Friday 26th January

Dear Parents and Carers, This week Reception children have been writing their stories of 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt'. In Maths the children have enjoyed looking at weight, height, capacity and mass, through lots of practical activities.&nbsp; The children have continued to enjoy their pen disco sessions. In SCARF this week the children have read the story of Harold Shares his Scarf, where they saw how Harold helped his friends realise its ok to be different to each other. I wonder if your child can tell you about this story.&nbsp; This week Year Two enjoyed their walk around their locality in preparation for a week of map work in Geography. They have created&nbsp;3D maps and drawn some using symbols on a key. They have printed houses and printed in a different way to make symbols to represent trees on a map. In Maths the children have been making equal groups. This week Year One have written some brilliant stories based on the story "We're going on a bear hunt". In Maths the children have started to learn about addition and subtraction within 20. They have explored how they can use their knowledge of bonds within 10 to help them to problem solve. In Music the children have continued to use body percussion to copy rhythms. The children have kickstarted their Geography learning by going on a locality walk. They explored and learnt more about human and physical features. They will continue to learn more about where they live in the coming weeks, as they answer the question "What would I like to change in my locality?" Miss K Bullock Head of School

This week the Nursery children have been learning about the number 4. They have really enjoyed learning the story of Pete the Cat and his 4 groovy buttons and have worked hard to count and stick 4 buttons on to their own Pete the Cat. The children have enjoyed playing outside and have been practising moving in a variety of ways including balancing along beams, climbing on stepping stones and jumping along a hop scotch mat. Their favourite movement has been crawling through tunnels.

Reporting Absences If your child is going to be absent from school due to illness, then please inform the office before 9am in the morning, and let us know why your child is going to be absent, and when you expect them to return. You may either phone the office on (01726) 812006 and leave a message or alternatively send an email to hello@biscoveyinfants.org.uk Please make sure that you child is getting to school on time. The gates will shut at 8.45am prompt.

School gates are open between 8.35 - 8.45am After 8.45 when gates are closed your child will be marked by the office as late (L) 8.50am onwards your child will be marked as late after register closes (U)
