Welcome to our newsletterFriday 19th January
Head of School Welcome
Dear Parents and Carers,
This week reception have done some fantastic writing captions from the story 'We're going on a bear hunt.' In Maths they have been recapping their knowledge on one more and one less. The children have been learning and practising their dance routine in PE, working on how to stay in time with a steady beat. In their SCARF session this week the children have continued to look at their families and have discussed how all their families are different, but still special.
Year one have written some wonderful stories this week. In Maths the children have continued their learning of numbers to 20 and have started to look at one more and one less within these numbers. In art the children have enjoyed mixing primary colours together to create new colours. In music they have been working together to create and keep a steady beat. In SCARF this week the children have thought about the special people in their lives and created their very our special person balloon.
Year 2 have been writing their own adventure stories based on The Snail and The Whale. In Maths the children have continued to count coins to find change from £1. They have also been printing to create pictures of houses in preparation for their geography lessons next week. It will be good to get out and about in the fresh air on Monday when Owls and Robins will be going on a locality walk to see the amenities that are available to residents.
