Welcome to our newsletterFriday 23rd February
Head of School Welcome
Dear Parents and Carers,
Year 1 have had a great start to the week after having some breaking news on Monday about the fallen 700 year old tree. In Maths the children have started to look at numbers within 50. In RE the children have started their new enquiry question thinking about their special people and how they would welcome them.
Reception have enjoyed learning their new class story of 'After the storm'. They have had lots of fun in PE learning how to hold a tennis racket and balance a ball. They have created some wonderful paintings of animals from the key text and have created a yummy fruit salad in DT. The children have also been looking at their daily routine in Maths. They have also planted some seeds in their computing session.
Year 2 have immersed themselves in 'Jack and the Beanstalk' this week. They have planted beans, painted leaves, made observational drawings of plants and used pastels to show different shades of green. Lots of writing took place too, searching for verbs and nouns in the illustrations and modifying them with adjectives and adverbs. In Maths the children have been sharing and grouping.
