Friday 20th October
Head of School Welcome
Dear Parents and Carers,

This week Reception have been using their learnt sounds to write CVC words and simple sentences in English. They have been consolidating their learning in maths, using and applying their skills learnt throughout the half term, including comparing weight, height, counting accurately and patterns.
The children have been continuing to use and apply their ball skills in PE and have been passing the ball, dribbling, throwing and catching and using a hockey stick to control a ball. What a busy and super week Reception.

This week in Year One the children have reflected on their history learning. The children have learnt about how technology has changed since the past and answered the question "What has changed since our parents and grandparents were young?" In maths the children have been writing addition fact families and learning about bonds within 10. They have created Victorian portraits inspired by their trip to Lanhydrock house.

Year Two have been investigating the question 'What is a food chain?' They sorted pictures of animals and plants and discussed who were predators, consumers, producers. They learnt that humans are at the top of the food chain and plants are producers at the bottom.

Road Safety
We have been focussing on road safety in school this week. We hope this video will help support your children safe by the road. Please can I ask that you are driving carefully when you are dropping off and picking up your children from school. This will support us to keep everyone safe.
