Our focus value for the next 4 weeks is 'Imagination.' The children will be learning this value in all lessons. If you have any examples from home of your child showing courage we would love for you to share this with us on Tapestry.

Welcome to our newsletter Friday 3rd November

Dear Parents and Carers, This week Year 1 have enjoyed finding materials to fix Mrs Sanders umbrella. The children took part in an experiment to find out which materials were waterproof, and which were not. In Maths the children have been working systematically to find number bonds to 10. This half term Year 1 have started their new topic of gymnastics in PE. The children have done a great job at travelling in different ways and practising their balancing skills.&nbsp; Reception children have enjoyed their wow start to their new topic with a celebration of Halloween. The children have enjoyed exploring the textures within different pumpkins and think about the life-cycle of a pumpkin. In Maths the children have learnt all about the number 1. In SCARF the children have been thinking about their own bedroom routine and why it is important to get a good nights sleep.&nbsp; This week Year 2 completed the art work to go with their new text 'The Mousehole Cat'. What a coincidence that later in the week they had a visit from a real life storm cat! They also learnt to add and subtract to the nearest ten. In writing they have been using adjectives to describe characters. PE sent them jumping off benches, landing safely and learning new rolls. Miss K Bullock Head of School

This week the nursery children have been learning about number 1. They have been busy finding 1 in a variety of places such as on picture dominoes, dice games and showing 1 on their fingers. We even had a number 1 hunt around the garden.

Reporting Absences If your child is going to be absent from school due to illness, then please inform the office before 9am in the morning, and let us know why your child is going to be absent, and when you expect them to return. You may either phone the office on (01726) 812006 and leave a message or alternatively send an email to hello@biscoveyinfants.org.uk Please make sure that you child is getting to school on time. The gates will shut at 8.45am prompt.

School gates are open between 8.35 - 8.45am After 8.45 when gates are closed your child will be marked by the office as late (L) 8.50am onwards your child will be marked as late after register closes (U)
