Our focus value for the next 4 weeks is 'Respect' The children will be learning this value in all lessons. If you have any examples from home of your child showing Respect we would love for you to share this with us on Tapestry.

For showing respect when using the equipment in PE making sure he set the activity back up how he found it.&#160;

For showing respect to their friends and making sure they are OK.

For looking after and respecting the resources in the classroom.

Welcome to our newsletter Friday 15th March

Dear Parents and Carers, Thank you for all of your kind donations towards the 'Connect 40 Challenge' I hope that you have all seen the highlights book on Facebook and the school website. The children really did have a fantastic day. If you would still like to donate the link is online. This week in Reception the children have been looking at and labelling parts of a flower. They have been learning how each part of the flower is important and has a specific job. Reception have been learning their number bonds to 10 in maths this week, using the part, part whole method. In SCARF this week the children have been thinking about their goals and what they would like to achieve by the end of the year.&nbsp; This week Year One have started to investigate the question: 'How do plants grow?' In science lessons the children have set up a fair test to explore what happens to daffodils when they are given coloured water. In maths the children have been exploring the use of rulers to measure length and height. In RE we have been continuing to learn about Palm Sunday and how Jesus was welcomed to Jerusalem. In computing the children have been using Chromebooks to create artwork in the style of different artists.&nbsp; Year Two have been investigating mass, measuring in grams and kilograms. They have been enjoying creating artwork in the style of Henri Rousseau. This has also linked closely to our computing, where we took photographs of "mini-Mes" in amongst the plants and outside in the garden area. PE was great fun, where we used balloons to practise our tennis skills. Look out for our beanstalks growing outside our classroom- we hope there won't be a giant at the top of it." This week the nursery children have been learning how to use balancing scales. They have been exploring a range of objects to determine which are heavier and which are lighter. They quickly realised that the heavy objects go down and the lighter objects go up. In SCARF we have been talking about emotions and the different colours that could represent these. The children listened to the story of 'The Colour Monster' before creating their own colourful emotion collages.&nbsp; The Honeybees children have been looking at patterns this week. They have observed animal patterns carefully to match the toy animal to the pattern card. They had&nbsp;lots of fun copying the animals noises afterwards too.

Reporting Absences If your child is going to be absent from school due to illness, then please inform the office before 9am in the morning, and let us know why your child is going to be absent, and when you expect them to return. You may either phone the office on (01726) 812006 and leave a message or alternatively send an email to hello@biscoveyinfants.org.uk Please make sure that you child is getting to school on time. The gates will shut at 8.45am prompt.

School gates are open between 8.35 - 8.45am After 8.45 when gates are closed your child will be marked by the office as late (L) 9am onwards your child will be marked as late after register closes (U)
