Here in the middle colonies you can get rich from natural resources! Come sell lumber with us, or mine for coal! Even, anchor your ship in our deep harbors, grow in our rich soils, and don't worry about those long cold winters in New England, or those pesky disease carrying mosquitoes in the southern colonies. We're not too cold and not too warm, were just right! You can even make iron in the middle colonies, and get RICH!

Why were the middle colonies founded?

Reasons for Founding

You're probably wondering; Why were the middle colonies founded in the first place? The middle colonies were founded, for a safe place for Quakers, alike William Penn, the founder of Pennsylvania. A place where you won't get picked on, because you're not Puritan. So you don't have to worry about getting kicked out because of your religion, like you would in New England.

Economy

There are many ways to make money here in the middle colonies. You can grow in our rich soil, and grow your crops in our long growing seasons. Cut down trees and sell your lumber. Mine for minerals and make money! You can even become a sailor and catch fish and become rich.

People and their Nationalities

In the middle colonies people are welcome from all different places. For example, the Dutch are here, and along with them are; the Swedes, the English, and the Germans! So, if you don't practice a certain religion, and you're looking for a new home in the New World, you should pick the middle colonies! Where your welcome from all different countries, unlike the New England colonies where most of them are mainly English puritans.
