Loading...The Shuar are one of five ethnic groups in the Amazon The Shuar have traditionally been residents of the forests.
Their typical preparations are maitos, chontacuros, roasted meat, carachama broth, creole chicken broth, chicha de chonta and yucca, as a fresh drink guayusa water. These preparations are consumed in their festivals and rituals that they practice, especially the festival of the chonta.
Loading...FESTIVITIES: The Chonta Festival is the most important celebration of the Shuar people in the Amazon. It evokes the end of the harvest and is held in gratitude to the Pacha Mama, for the annual production of uwi or chonta.
