The Middle Colonies

Safety, one of the many things that made the Middle Colonies awesome. Ben Franklin was a scientist before he was a politician. He made fire insurance and lightning rods to help the Middle Colonies.

Beautiful, snowy winters! Hot, humid summers which means long-growing seasons! Many useful, money-making minerals, including iron and copper, and very deep harbors for fishing.

Don’t live in New England colonies! They have horrible soil, and are very strict on religion! 

Don’t live in the Southern Colonies! They have disease-carrying mosquitoes, they have very hot summers, and they use slaves! 

New York was founded for trade routes in the west. 

Delaware was also founded for trading, but also for it’s good soil and farming.

Pennsylvania was founded for religious freedom for Quakers.
