Hello, I am the author, Alyssa Payne. I am eleven years old. I am in fifth grade. One fun fact about me is that I love to draw. My favorite thing to draw are flowers or nature. This is why I am writing this book. My favorite flowers to draw are daisies and marigolds. I think those flowers are fun to draw and color. My other favorite flowers are roses, sunflowers, and hibiscus flowers. These flowers are the most beautiful flowers I have ever seen.

Prickly Roses
The Land Of Roses
Roses are erect, climbing, or trailing shrubs. The stem is covered with prickly thorns to protect from predators like minute pirate bugs, lacewings, and lady beetles.
The land of roses takes place in Bulgaria. They call it the land of roses because the country has been related to the plant for centuries.
Where Do Roses Grow?
Most species of roses grow in Asia, and a fewer in North America, Europe, and North Africa. In North America roses grow in maritime parts of northern California and southern Oregon. This is good for growing more rose species in North America. In North Africa Kenya holds more than half of all the roses in the world.

Another 30 days it will grow a bud. Then another 30 days the bud has grown big enough for it to start to bloom. Within the blooming stage pollination takes place. Then another 30 days the seeds start to develop and ripen. Then the last stage is harvesting. In conclusion the life cycle is approximately 4 months.
