What is a growth and fixed mindset?
A mindset is the way in which we think. The Growth and fixed are types of mindsets in which we think. To have a growth mindset would mean to be flexible in which you can learn anything you want to. You take risks, your not afraid of failure, you learn from it instead of giving up. You give everything you got to anything you have. You show grit and determination. A fixed mindset means your defeatist. You don’t show determination. Your afraid or never been exposed to failure. You think you either good at something or your not. Which one do you want to have?
I wouldn’t say that I’m a defeatist person, but if my hearts not into it, I’m not into. I will try a new activity, but if I’m not being forced to do it by my parents, I’m not going to put my full effort into it. In order for me to like something, Ill need to get used to it.
This journal will be a journey of my growth mindset. Ill give examples of times I show grit and use a growth mindset. Ill go back and show times I showed grit and present times where I showed grit
Grit
Showing grit is a big part of having a growth mindset. It show as perseverance and determination, both big parts of having a a growth mindset.

A good example of when I showed grit is the year I wanted to play a higher level of hockey. I worked very hard for this and even though I was really tired and it was really hard, I kept going. A lot of things were tempting me to stop, but I persevered and my hard finally paid off as I made the team that.I was extremely proud and i made the team ever since
Growth Mindset In School
I did not like French class one bit. Learning a new language is very hard and I haven’t had a good experience with it in years past. I just don’t like having to re-learn an entire language and its hard. I also don’t want to work for it because I don’t want to learn another language and my hearts not in it. If I do what to develop a growth mindset, I’m going to have to focus and work hard and not get stumped by simple little problems
Growth Mindset in School
My view on intelligence has definitely changed after learning about growth mindset. I know see intelligence as learning. Albert Einstein once said: “We don’t go to school to learn, we go to school to learn how to learn”. This is very relevant to growth mindset because we have to learn from our failures and mistakes in order to do better

At my old school, we embraced growth mindset. At times however the teachers sometimes forgot, which is ok. Sometimes they would correctable my spelling mistakes and give it back to me. I didn’t learn anything from that all I did was carelessly wrote it. When I received growth mindset praise on what i can do better, I do my best work and learn from the experience.

I now think, after being introduced to growth mindset that achievement is yes, completing your assignment, but now its less about the final grade, and the learning along the way. Learning is the biggest achievement
