Mei Nakabayashi (中林 芽依, Nakabayashi Mei, born October 21, 1989), better known by her stage name May'n (メイン, Mein), is a Japanese singer from Nagoya. Aspiring to become a musician since childhood, she began her music activities in 2003 upon passing an audition held by talent agency Horipro. She made her major debut in 2005 under the Universal Music label with the release of her first single "Crazy Crazy Crazy". She would release two more singles under Universal Music, before transferring to Victor Entertainment in 2008. That same year, she had her break as the singing voice of the character Sheryl Nome in the anime series Macross Frontier.

He’s a mystery to me, but a fun one I enjoy seeing his sparkly black eyes, they hide more personality than it shows I enjoy feeling like a building compared to him , but I bet he must be scared of me sometimes. It’s such a big world for him, and he is a little mango seed that hasn’t grown fully yet, and even if it did it would still be smaller than the rest of the world My little curious mango seed, I like the sound of it. I wish to see the world through his eyes sometimes to understand his little head and his big world to understand the rage he sometimes seems to show and to find out how he really feels by living here with me. I’d like to know what’s going on inside his head as a mom who’s worried for her child but&nbsp;he’s not my child, he’s my friend and it is my responsibility to look after him. I feel like my heart breaks every time he’s filthy and hungry, because I feel like I am reflecting myself on him He doesn’t deserve that, not anyone much less a little kid

I can see my bird scratching his feathers and puffing them, making him look bigger than he is I can see him acting all tough, trying to give the best of himself so no one dares to challenge him I can see how his little claws firmly grab his stick and how he uses them to climb around his little house when he wants to I can see his orange head pop out of nowhere when I least expect it and&nbsp; I can see how he moves his green and blue tail when he wants to get cleaned I know everything about him, yet I still struggle to connect with him. Ryan Lewis is a popular American musician, hip-hop artist, disc-jockey, record producer and music video director. He rose to fame with singles such as 'Thrift Shop' and 'Can't Hold Us', and has been labelled as rapper Macklemore's right hand. Lewis met Macklemore on 'Myspace' in 2006 and began working together in 2008.

Poem "Gitanjali 35" vs Lyrics "Imagine"

There are two poems that&nbsp;are good, one is Gitanjali 35 by Tagore and the other is not a poem, it is a song called Imagine by John Lennon .&nbsp;Both are very profound in the lyrics and the two also are very unique, one of them has this special thing to adore and appreciate. Furthermore, the authors illustrate two different things. They explain distinct meanings to the world. In the poem, Tagore talks more about his thoughts and how he feels, and about his feelings to someone that we do not know who he, she or it is, maybe India, and that is special. Lennon tries to give the people a better perspective of life, he tries to make them imagine a new world without the differences that everyone suffers. Also, Lennon and Tagore were pacifists and they were always worried about the environment and the problems that cause differences among people. The language in the two poems includes so much metaphor and meaning to give the&nbsp;readers a clear image of their messages, and that something that not so many people can do, a gift, which is writing so well. Everyone wants&nbsp;to be born with a gift like this,&nbsp;John and Tagore

Rabindranath Tagore's Bio

Rabindranath Tagore was a poet, musician, polymath, Ayurveda-researcher and artist who recast music, Bengali literature and Indian art in late 19th and early 20th century. In 1913, Rabindranath Tagore was the first non-European to win Nobel Prize in Literature. Rabindranath Tagore was also referred to as 'the Bard of Bengal'.&nbsp; He&nbsp;was a Bengali polymath who reshaped his region's literature and music. Author of Gitanjali and its "profoundly sensitive, fresh and beautiful&nbsp;verse", he became the first non-European to win the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913. In translation his poetry&nbsp;was viewed as spiritual&nbsp;and mercurial; however, his "elegant prose and magical poetry" remain largely unknown outside Bengal. Tagore introduced new prose and verse forms and the use of colloquial language into Bengali literature, thereby freeing it from traditional models based on classical Sanskrit. He was highly influential in introducing the best of Indian culture&nbsp;to the West and vice versa, and he is generally regarded as the outstanding creative artist of modern South Asia.

"Ishinomaki" vs "To Autumn"

The point of this essay is to compare the two poems, "Ishinomaki" by Cesar Polvorosa Jr. and "To Autumn" by John Keats.The first one being from the east culture while the second one from the west. From an amateur reader's stand-point, we an state which poem is more attractive to the reader and maybe more relevant to his own liking, and yet, it has nothing to do with the fact that one poem may be better than the other. Therefore, it is important to analyze the two poems separately and be more clear as to which poem I, personally, would be pulled to read. First of all, "Ishinomaki" is more intense, in my view. The paragraphs clearly reflect his passion, his affection for writing and how he intends to express his feelings on a piece of paper.&nbsp;Despite them being very short, you can focus on the lyrics and enjoy the fluent reading. You do not feel so tired trying to grasp the words as in the case of "Autumn" by John Keats.

Keats, conversely, writes more heavily and you do not easily get the same urge to read it. It is lengthy and it has so many lines that it requires a second, third and even a fourth re-reading. Yet, many people like this type of writing where the poem seems to be a short story. In conclusion, the two poems are&nbsp;good and the authors know what they are doing and how to express the feelings and expressions on a piece of paper, and transmit them to the readers. It is clear that a lot of people read these poems and the poets are well-known.

Two Poets, One Dream I have discovered that Tagore’s poem "Gitanjali 35" and John Lennon’s song "Imagine" are quite similar to each other, but, obviously, they also have differences. They both dream of a perfect society, Lennon speaks more globally while Tagore refers to his country, India. They both have similar goals, like being free to live without fear or live in a place with no divisions. Their objectives are not exactly the same though. While Lennon is asking for love and peace, Tagore dreams with perfection in every aspect. On one hand, “Imagine” is a song that reflects the vision of a poet of living in a world with no divisions. Lennon states that countries and religions divide the people and also lead them to fight and kill each other. He also talks about possessions, saying that materialistic desires lead to greed and thus capitalism, which again divides the society into classes. This desire is, again, a cause of problems faced by the people in the world. However, the author makes more emphasis on peace and love in the world. He says that there are many other dreamers as well and someday they will also join

him, and that day the world will be one. There will be unity among the people, and peace and prosperity will prevail. In addition, in the third line, he asks the people to leave aside what has been prescribed and advised in their religions and beliefs and rather consider the world as the ultimate reality and live for today. On the other hand, "Gitanjali 35” is a contemplation of a state of being and a way of living into which the author wishes India would awaken. At the beginning of the poem, Tagore means that everyone must be able to live without fear of the repercussions of their thoughts, also being able to be proud of their beliefs and express them freely in an open society. Moreover, in the third line, he refers to the way in which one class is separated from another in all the facts of life, from where and how they live, to where they work and who they work for. Anyway, Tagore talks about perfection and knowledge and truth through hard work. Furthermore, in the fifth line, he refers to the trouble that one will run into when they start on a reasonable path and with a goal in mind, but then fall into a habit and are unable to reach what they

Did you ever imagine a world with peace and freedom? Well there are several artists that actually did it tha is why in this essay I will compare the poem named “Gitanjali 35” and the song named “imagine” by Rabindranath and John Lennon, respectively. The first simile we can find is that in both cases they talk about a wish of themselves. That means something is not done yet, for example, when in the poem the poet talks about the freedom of the country, he talks about a wish, and when John invites us to IMAGINE a world like that, too. Inviting us to think of a society with no war and freedom for everyone is included in each piece of work. Secondly, we can find that both pieces of art talk about peace and freedom. This makes us realise that they are talking about a utopian society where wars and violence do not exist, while in reality it is impossible because of all the hate and the selfishness that rule the world. The rapper known as Macklemore was born Ben Haggerty on June 19, 1983, in Seattle, Washington, and grew up in the Capitol Hill area. His mother was a social worker who encouraged her son to be supportive of differences. He took to performing as a child, and was influenced by the likes of hip-hop groups Kris Kross and Digital Underground as well as pop superstar Michael Jackson. He eventually attended Garfield High School, the alma mater of musical luminaries like Quincy Jones and Jimi Hendrix. It was at Garfield where Haggerty started to use liquor and drugs heavily, though his parents tried to end the habit by moving him to another school and into a college-credit program. He attended Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington, and in 2000 released an EP dubbed Open Your Eyes under the moniker Professor Macklemore. He released his full-length debut, The Language of My World, in 2005.

Rapper Macklemore released solo work before succumbing to drug abuse and entering rehab in 2008. He then teamed up with producer Ryan Lewis, and the two went on to have huge success with their debut album, The Heist, and the singles "Thrift Shop" and "Can't Hold Us," with millions of copies sold. In 2014, the duo won four Grammys, including the prize for Best New Artist, and released their sophomore effort This Unruly Mess I've Made two years later.

East/West Poetry and Lyrics

Q: [interview] What is poetry? A: [quote from poet Cesar Polvorosa Jr.] For me it’s the use of the inherent rhythms and aesthetic devices of language for composition that conveys the person’s observations, deep reflection and interpretation of life and the human interaction with the world. It’s both universal and individual. It’s universal because the poet as a member of his/her community and broader humanity utilizes and responds to a common or similar interpretation of symbols, experiences and the aesthetics of language because of culture. It’s also deeply personal because each person as an individual has a unique perspective. Both the universal and the individual must commingle in each poem. The universal element is present so that the poem can be critically appreciated by any human being- even if it is translated into another language across different cultures and eras. A perfect example would be the poetry of Pablo Neruda that had been translated into English from the original Spanish. It’s also intensely personal so that the poem becomes a singular or unique&nbsp;accomplishment&nbsp;that reflect the poet’s lens of individuality – and to which readers also respond or appreciate from their own unique lens. It’s the interaction of the universal and the personal that makes the reading and writing of poetry a wondrous human experience.

But there is one thing for certain, John Lennon and Tagore knew that their world was not doing well and both wanted it to improve, for us human beings, to help the world turn into a much better place. Because it is a reality that there is hunger, war and poverty everywhere, and we can all get to write poems or songs about them and they will all end up sounding pretty much the same. That is why we must stop just imagining a better world, and start making it possible today. So,&nbsp;as we can see, both pieces have their similarities with their messages and chosen words, but it is important to grasp that there are differences too, like to whom those words are meant to. Besides, as both writers are different people, who lived in different conditions and were raised differently, it is obvious that they will end up writing something somewhat different. "Akai Hana" vs "Same Love"

Love is show, expressed and represented in many ways but in the poem Aka Hana and in the song Same love, the authors explore a similar topic: broken love, to one self and romantic/familiar love. In this essay I will talk about these works and analyze in depth the abstract topic love really is. “Same Love” talks about government, society, but most importantly, self love. The singers talk about the confusion in one self with understanding their sexuality, the pain that comes with being honest to themselves and how people end up breaking down that self confidence and love one should have for oneself. Here social media reflect comments that rain, down, the word "gay" is used as an insult and they doubt themselves due to all that. On the other hand, “Akani Hana”, talks about how these persons fell lost and how he is in pin and chasing something that only hurts them more. It is also about love, self love that has been corrupted due to hurting people, about romantic and familiar love that drifted

away from them and hurt them in the process. It describes in a very poetic way how painful it is to meet this person casually without any attachments anymore, and this damages greatly the self-esteem of the protagonist in this piece. Both stories are really different, that is clear. One was inspired in an ancient poem of the East from years ago and the other is set in the modern times as it deals with some current issues. In this Essay, I am going to compare and contrast the poem by Rabindranath Tagore “Gitanjali 35” and John Lennon’s song “Imagine”&nbsp; As we can see, both authors speak about Religion and Heaven, with John Lennon’s “No religion” “Imagine there’s no heaven” “no hell below us”, we can clearly see that Lennon does not believe in religion and its principals, while Tagore has faith in God, talking about the “Father” and asking his Father to open people’s eyes, he also compares freedom and heaven, as we can see in the following sentence “Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.” Tagore is hopeful. The authors also share their view when it comes to freedom, peace and fear, Lennon longs for a world where people do not kill each other “nothing to kill or die for”, he just wants to see people “living life in peace”. Maybe they got away when they fled the crumbling buildings for the fields as the ground rumbled. Maybe they got away from the onrushing wall of murky sea water that like a malevolent leviathan crushed and swallowed Ishinomaki. Did Yuko and Seiko leave on time? They should be grown women by now perhaps with children at their same age when I was a guest of the family decades ago. What about Kazuo their pock marked, pot&nbsp;bellied&nbsp;father and Shintaro their constantly inebriated family friend? We forged our ties from imbibing sake while engorging on sushi and yakitori Did they make it? It was a bright and&nbsp;cheerful&nbsp;town. The flowers bloomed at Hiyori-yama Park. Children laughed while walking with their okasan and obaasan. I was enamored with the fair maidens in colorful kimonos as their peals of merriment echoed through the streets. Where are they now?

Were they the weeping survivors who combed among the flotsam? Were they the bent dishevelled figures searching amidst the mud and miasma for their photos, clothes and broken furniture? For ages they bless the land and the sea for their bounty. Did they curse them for that day of boundless rage? Did they question the mindless vagaries of the gods? It was a shattered town of floating, bloated&nbsp;corpses&nbsp;but they buried the dead, removed the salt from the land and rebuilt. What endures is the&nbsp;memory&nbsp;by the living of the vibrant mirth and verdant fields vanishing in the paroxysm of the earth and sea on 3/11. The muddy fields had been cleared but the debris remained amidst the ruins of the heart and soul. It is to tremble at a tremor and shed a tear at the sight of the sea. I shuddered. My fears for them are like gaping fissures that may never close. Maybe they got away. I pray they did.

Poems and songs always try to express and transmit a clear message, that usually the reader or the receptor of that piece of art can interpret as we want. Today we have read two poems that transmit a message that has many ways of interpreting it. First of all the song “Imagine” by the well-known singer John Lennon, and the second one is a poem written by Rabindranath Tagore. The poem's name is Gitanjali 35. The two texts have many similarities that are important to mention and to take into account. The first thing that we can realize that is very similar is that both texts or poems are written for a person to read them. They are trying to transmit a message to someone. What I mean by this is that they are not written without any reason or written for the author itself. It's important to know this because when the reader is reading, forgive the redundancy, they already know that the text is trying to say something to us, a clear message that we need to interpret. Furthermore, the second similarity that I want to mention is that in both texts the author is “wishing” something. This means that by writing, they are

expressing things that they want to happen or to exist. As we all know, we live in a world that is divided into counties, cities, continents, religions, traditions, and many other things. We live in a place that there are people that are superior and that in many aspects control us, and in the texts, they are going against that. They want to destroy those things, they want to live in a world where the borders and the control do not exist, they wonder if someday that will happen and they wish that it does.&nbsp; On the other hand, both texts have something that is different. The thing is that the song written by Lennon, is talking about the world in general, I mean, about changing all the world, and all the society, while the other poem is referring specifically to India when the country was managed by England. Obviously, the message in the second poem also can be interpreted in a way of including all the world, but it's a fact that is designed for India that is the country where the author belongs.&nbsp; To conclude, both texts transmit a very positive and clear message that is important that we all have into account, and that also allows us to think about those things that

Meet Cesar Polvorosa Jr.

His fiction had been anthologized. He was a Writing Fellow at the University of the Philippines Creative Writers’ Workshop. In Toronto, he was a 2008 Emerging Writer of Diaspora Dialogues and a Board Director of Storytelling Toronto. He had been a scholar in his BA, MA and PhD studies.

Cesar Polvorosa, Jr. is a professor teaching economics and world geography courses at the Humber Business School, Toronto, Canada. He is a published writer in economics, business and literary fields. His poems and/or short stories had been published in Philippine magazines, a Japanese English daily and a Canadian University literary journal.

There are many pieces of art that resemble each other, originality is harder to achieve everyday. But today I am going to talk about two specific pieces that resemble each other, not in what they look like, but in what their message is about. These pieces are Tagore’s poem "Gitanjali 35" and John Lennon’s song "Imagine". In “Imagine” we get a very straight forward message of peace, of how it it is so easy to imagine a world with no division or discrimination, like in “Imagine there’s no heaven, it’s easy if you try. No hell below us, above us only sky. Imagine all the people living for today”. We can also see this theme in Tagore’s poem. He talks about freedom and no restrictions, peaceful free will: “Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high; Where knowledge is free...”.&nbsp;They both talk about imagining a better world. In both pieces, we can see the desire for a better world, the wish of freedom for all. Freedom of the different ways of thinking like in religions, and that people can access to all the knowledge they want. We see this in the lyrics: “Imagine there's no heaven; It's easy if you try;

No hell below us; Above us only sky...Nothing to kill or die for; And no religion, too”&nbsp;in Lennon’s song and in the words “Where knowledge is free...Where words come out from the depth of truth” in Tagore’s poem. On the other hand, even though Tagore’s poem and John’s song talk about peace, in a way that we imagine it is destined for the whole world, Tagore seems to be more specific when he mentions “Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake”. The two of them are talking about freedom and peace, yes, but it seems that one of them is directing those wishes to a place that may be needing it a lot. John Keats (London 1795 - Rome 1821) devoted his short life to the perfection of poetry marked by vivid imagery, great sensuous appeal and an attempt to express a philosophy through classical legend. In 1818 he went on a walking tour in the Lake District. His exposure and overexertion on that trip brought on the first symptoms of the tuberculosis, which ended his life. Historical Context:&nbsp;“To Autumn” was written in 1820 during the Romantic era*1, a time in which there was a deep appreciation of the power and beauty of nature, there was a recognition of the influence of the senses and of personal emotion and an understanding of the deeper meaning of life. “To Autumn” reflects on mankind’s relationship with a particular time of year. He wrote the poem inspired by a walk he had taken through the countryside; it is, therefore, a highly personal response.After going to the countryside, Keats contracted tuberculosis which led to his death. Keats had a major impact on poetry, in spite of dying at the age of 25, he was regarded as one of the most important poets in literary history.
