How can we make McCarthy an even better school?
Dear Ms. Page and Ms. Nolan,

In books, classrooms always have class pets but never in real life. In my opinion we should get a class pet. We should get something small like a hamster.

One reason is it will teach students responsibility. It will teach responsibility by having them take care of a living thing. One example is we will clean its poop and its cage. We will also give it food and water.

Another reason is if a kid is stressed or sad they can pet their pet.

Finally we should have pets because it would let kids get creative. It would let kids get creative by letting them design the cage. Kids also can name it.

That is why I think McCarthy should have pets!

Sincerely,
Ava Winer
No Poppets Allowed!

By : Maha Baraka
Dear Ms. Page, Ms. Nolan and other 4th grade teachers,

I strongly believe that poppets should not be allowed in school.Yes we could have stuff to keep us calm but we should not be allowed to bring in our own fidgets.

One reason is that poppets are too loud. One example is, when a teacher is talking, all people can hear is POP - POP. They will miss what the teacher is teaching.

Another reason is that when someone brings their poppets it could be stolen. For example, when you don't let someone play with your poppet they would get jealous and steal it. Also if you leave it on your desk someone might rummage through and steal a poppet .
My final reason it could be distracting. For an instance, people would ask to play with the poppet . Another example is all the kids attention would be on the poppet. They would not be listening to the teacher and wouldn't be doing their work and just be looking at the poppet.

Now you will understand with me, why kids should not bring poppets to school.

Sincerely,
 Maha Baraka

 No fidgets allowed
By Beautiful Kirnon

Dear Ms. Page,Ms Nolan, and other fourth grade teachers,

In my opinion classrooms shouldn't have fidgets.

One reason we shouldn’t have fidgets in class is because they can get lost. It’s not the teachers fault that you lost your fidgets. For example, you can lose your fidgets outside, in the hallways, or in the classroom.

Another reason we shouldn’t have fidgets is that a student could get mad or jealous and steal their friend’s fidget. This could cause fights and student’s won’t be friends.
A final reason we shouldn’t have fidgets is students will get distracted and less work done. For example all fidgets could be a distraction and could stop teachers also students paying attention to the lesson that the kids need to learn.

In conclusion, fidgets shouldn’t be in school for a better learning environment for kids to learn.
