In a peaceful, sleepy, medium-sized town, there lived a young fox named Gist who loved adventure. Gist was friendly with his neighbors and liked the other animals in the town, but he was always SO BORED. There was never any adventure to find in the town! He had to go out to the areas surrounding the town to get some excitement.
Today, he decided to go to the nearby forest. As he was heading out, one of his friends, Dreg the wolf, asked him, “Gist, where are you going?”
Gist replied, “I’m going out to the forest. I’m going to hunt for my food!”
Dreg was confused and asked, “Why don’t you just get your food from the grocery store?”
“That’s not exciting and fun at all! And plus, I want to explore the nearby forest. While I’m exploring, I can get food too.”
Dreg was curious. He’d never been to the forest before, so he asked his friend, “If you find anything, come back and tell me! Then we can go explore it together.”
Gist answered, “I definitely will.”
Gist skipped into the forest. He’d been here before, but it was at least more fun than being in the town. However, after walking around the forest for a little bit, he got bored.
“Oh, come on! There’s nothing new in the forest today. Maybe I should go deeper into the forest. I haven’t been there yet.” He wandered deeper in. It looked exactly the same as the outer area of the forest, so he thought there would be nothing new. He went even further in, and finally saw something different! He found strange ruins. The ruins looked extremely old, but Gist couldn’t tell where they were from. They looked like they were from part of a religious building, but there were unknown scribbles and symbols all over them. He was surprised that he found something like these ruins.
“These are some weird ruins. All the other ruins that are found in other places that I’ve seen in books and on the news don’t seem anything like this one. I wonder why no one else has found them before. Should I keep these ruins a secret so that I can have all the fun exploring by myself?” But then he thought of his promise to his friend, Dreg.
“Guess I can share what I found with Dreg. I did promise, after all.” On the way back to his home, he hunted a rabbit for dinner, since that was part of the reason why he went to the forest.
The next day, Gist went to Dreg’s house to tell him what he found. He knocked politely on the door a few times. There was no response. He knocked on the door heavily. There was still no response. So then he yelled, “DREG, WAKE UP!!!!”
Finally, Dreg answered the door, but he looked very tired. Dreg was about to ask what Gist wanted, angry that he had been woken up so rudely, but he then remembered that Gist promised to tell him if he found anything in the forest. As he remembered this, he thought happily, Did Gist find something?! He quickly brushed his teeth and went

through his morning procedures, and in a few minutes, he was already back waiting for Gist to talk.
Gist said, “I found weird ruins the other day. So do you want to head there to check it out or play? It’ll be pretty cool!”
“We should also bring Blant the Hawk, since he’s our friend too, and he might be sad to be left out,” suggested Dreg. Gist agreed after thinking about it, and they went to get Blant. Blant had overheard the whole conversation, hovering in the air above them.
He glided towards Gist, and quickly said, “Hi! I heard the whole conversation and let’s go to the ruins now. I would like to see them as this looks like it will be fun!”
They all went to the ruins, led by Gist. “Wow, this is amazing!” said Dreg. Blant was speechless as he looked around, interested in everything he saw. The three friends went to explore. Blant found some cool stones that had numbers on them. They also saw weird holes, and the stones seemed to match the holes perfectly, but they decided not to mess with anything as Gist made a joke on how it would do “magic.”
Eventually, Blant commented, “This is cool, but I am bored now. We’ve been looking through these ruins for a while. Let’s play a game instead!” While they played a game of tag, time passed by. It got darker and darker, as nighttime got closer. Running around, Dreg couldn’t see clearly, and he accidentally tripped on a rock. This pushed him towards a pillar, and he hit it. The pillar fell on another pillar, which then started falling on the others, causing a chain reaction that broke all the pillars around the ruins. Gist and Blant heard the loud noise of the pillars collapsing, and they came towards the sound's position. They saw that each and every one of the pillars had already collapsed.
Dreg had a guilty face when his friends looked at him. “Uh...That was an accident! I really didn’t mean to! I was running around, tripped, and fell into a pillar. Then this happened!”
Blant believed his friend and observed, “Well, it is getting dark and hard to see, so it makes sense for an accident to occur.”
Gist was a little surprised that Dreg could make such a mess. But, he tried to make his friend feel better.
“Don’t worry, accidents happen. Let’s just hope that something like this doesn’t happen again and that nothing bad happens from the pillars falling.” IMMEDIATELY SOMETHING BAD HAPPENED. They started to feel very, very sleepy and they heard some weird noises.
