Welcome to Reception

In the morning you will say good bye at the gate before going into the classroom.

In our outdoor area we have a mud kitchen, sand pit, water trays, bikes, climbing frame and lots of other exciting learning opportunities. 

Sometimes Mrs Eva and Mrs Morris will be teaching you.

Everyday when you come to school you will hang up your coat on your peg, your peg will be labelled with your name and picture.

We have lots of opportunities for Gardening in the classroom and in the Edible Garden.

You can go on a mini beast hunt in the classroom or even down at our school pond and wildlife area.

You can also build ramps for cars and water in our outdoor area.

In Reception we do lots of learning, we learn inside and outside, we have taken some photographs of areas of the classroom you may like to learn in when you join us in September.

We have a large outdoor area there is construction and dinosaurs ready to be played with.

You can practice your counting skills on the maths table.

Welcome to St Marks, I am looking forward to sharing some great books with you.

In Reception we love to read. We have a book corner in both Kahlo and McQueen classroom, we love sharing stories together. We will help you all to become readers.

In your classroom there will be a box for you to put your book bag in every morning, at the end of the day these will be given out for you to take home.

From home you can bring in a pair of wellies to wear when it is raining or when we go down to the nature area or on to the field. We store our wellies on the shelves outside of each classroom.

At school we wash our hands regularly to ensure we keep ourselves safe, watch this video of Ms Pearson showing you how to wash your hands correctly.

The Toilets are a short walk from the classroom, there are individual cubicles and each class has their own toilet area.

I am looking forward to meeting you in September, we are going to have lots of fun learning together.

In each classroom we celebrate great learning by displaying it on our Proud Cloud display.

Each day we will have circle time where we will each have a piece of fruit and a drink. 

In your classroom you will keep your named water bottle on a tray where you will be able to have a drink from it through out the day.
