How People Made Money In The Southern Colonies

Farming - People made money in the Southern Colonies by farming. They planted rice, tobacco, indigo, and cotton. You can become rich by owning a large plantation, where other people do the work for you while you relax and wait for the dollar bills to roll in!

Lumbering - People made money by lumbering. They made money by chopping down trees to build houses and other wooden things.

Why go into the cold, rough, and rocky ocean of the New England Colonies and wait for fish when you can chop down some trees waiting for you in the South!

Come enjoy the hot summers and mild winters of the Southern Colonies!

Instead of planting your plants with fish on top of them for them to grow and starving and freezing in the winters of the New England Colonies, come and live in the South with the nicer weather, and your plants will grow great with no fish!
