Reason For Founding

England has it all wrong. Here in the New England colonies we have fixed and purified the Church of England.

Here we want to be an example to the world, we know how to do everything the right way. Soon enough everyone will want to come here. Come to New England, the ones who know how to start a colony.

Geography

There are cold winters so you can have warm fires and hot chocolate.
There is a rocky coast, perfect for docking ships.
There is also a lot of trees for lumber, ship building, and many more uses to make money!

Economy

Selling lumber and making ships made a ton of money. You could just cut down as many trees as you wanted, because there was an endless supply.

Whaling was a big industry in the New England colony. You could sell the blubber and make it into wax, also you could sell the oil from the whale to make lamps.

Religion

Puritan was the religion in the New England Colonies

Puritans were called Separatists.

They did not get along with the Catholic religion at all!

The Puritan Religion was all about purifying the Church of England by fixing all its problems.

New England has tons of fish and whales to catch. All you have to do is catch one and sell it and you get easy money!

The Middle Colonies have iron, coal, and copper. Imagine how dangerous and how much work it is to have to dig that out from a mountain.

The Southern Colonies have rich soil. But, it must be very tiring to have to work out in the sun all day in the fields growing crops.
