Have you ever heard of the math monster?

She likes to eat your brains when you are trying to figure out long division, place value, or geometry!

She disguises herself. Sometimes, she looks normal but her sweet, little voice tells you that you can't solve this problem because you're not smart enough.

When you here the word math, she likes to tap you on the shoulder and let you know she's nearby. I hate when she does that!

One day, I was brave and put her into her place. I said "Math Monster, YOU are the brainless one because you think I can't learn math! I can! Watch me!

And you know what I did?

I asked questions instead of feeling stupid.

I tried a method my teacher taught me and even though It was wrong, I figured out my own mistake.
I'm so awesome.

Math monster scoffed when I asked for help. She didn't think I had it in me! But, she got the point.

I demanded she leave me alone! And guess what? Turns out I AM a mathematician!
