4th C The Secret of the Stones #1-6

At 7 o’clock Mrs.Black arrives, she listens to the story of the thief. When the story finishes she thinks that what happens is terrible because every year thieves come to Stonecross. Then she offers the family a cup of hot chocolate but Laura doesn’t want it. Mrs.Black&nbsp;tells her that it&nbsp;helps her&nbsp;to sleep, but Laura says that she can sleep&nbsp;very well.&nbsp;Soon everyone is sleeping but Laura is awake. She hears a noise from the study and she goes downstairs. She thinks that it is another thief.&nbsp;Laura pushes the door. She is confused because Mrs.Black is looking at Uncle Stephen’s notebook. After that Uncle Stephen and Dad wake up, when Dad sees Mrs.Black he is relieved because Dad doesn’t think that Mrs.Black is a thief! But Uncle Stephen is very serious. He asks Mrs.Black why she is there and she says that she lost her car keys and she thinks that she leaves them there. Uncle Stephen says that they can find them tomorrow and everyone goes to sleep again.

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Max and Laura are twins. They live in London with their mum and dad. They have interesting adventures on holiday time. This summer they are going to a small cottage in the countryside. The cottage is in a village called Stonecross. Mum likes painting and dad likes relaxing and sleeping. In twenty&nbsp;minutes they arrive in Stonecross. Dad is sleeping. Mum is&nbsp;unpacking. Mum tells dad to wake up. Dad wakes up and helps mum to unpack.

It is an ordinary day in the village. Max and Laura are exploring the village. Max wants to go to the newsagent´s because it is very hot. They enter and say: "Good morning!", and smile. But the woman doesn't answer. She is looking at them with cold eyes and says that there aren't any tourists in Stonecross. They just buy two cans of Coke and give her the money. Then, a man with curly hair and a black suit&nbsp;with a strange symbol appears. He asks them their names and surnames and they say Max and Laura Marrel. He asks them if their dad is the famous historian Stephen Marrel and they say that he is their uncle. The man's name is Martin Knight and he wants to know what Stephen is studying. Max tells him what Stephen is studying, but Laura is angry and says: “Come on Max we need to go home!”. Max is confused and angry, too. Laura says that she thinks that the man is dangerous and he is very interested in Uncle Stephen´s old book of mysteries.

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Max and Laura are twins. They live in London with ther mum and dad. This summer they are going to stay in a small cottage in the countryside .They always have interesting adventures on holiday. The cottage is in a small village called Stonecross. Max and Laura aren’t very happy. They think it is boring because the cottage is in&nbsp; the middle of the field. Dad wants to sleep and relax but mum wants to walk and paint. Mum drives the family car and Andrew sleeps. Uncle Stephen follows them in his old car. In the village&nbsp; there are green hills , flowers, sheep and cows everywhere. 

This holiday Max and Laura (the twins), their mom and dad and uncle Stephen are going to stay&nbsp;in a village called Stonecross in the middle of the field. Max looks at the map and shouts, “Boring!”. When mom says that the place is full of mystery, they are happy. When they are in the&nbsp;cottage, uncle Stephen finds that Stonecross is in his old book. Then mom calls dad because he is sleeping. Mom wants to walk in the field and paint. Dad wants to relax and sleep a lot. Mom&nbsp;is happy&nbsp;because&nbsp;there are&nbsp;a lot of cows, sheep, flowers and hills in Stonecross.

It is seven o’clock and mom, dad and Uncle Stephen tell Mrs. Black the story of the thief and Mrs. Black isn’t surprised, she knows that every summer there are thieves in Stonecross. Then, she prepares hot chocolate for all the family, except for Laura, because she doesn't want it. After that, everyone is playing cards, mom is winning, as usual. Suddenly a phone rings, it is Mrs. Black's mobile phone. She explains that it is her son. After that everyone is sleeping except for Laura that hears a noise from the study. She opens the door and there is Mrs Black. She explains that she lost her car keys. Andrew and Uncle Stephen arrive, they think that it is another thief. Dad smiles, he is happy to see Mrs. Black but Uncle Stephen isn’t happy to see her reading his notebook. She tells them the story of the car keys. She doesn't look at Uncle Stephen when she goes out of the cottage.

            One day, Mrs Black makes hot chocolate but Laura doesn't drink it. The family drinks the hot chocolate and Laura goes to bed. She hears a noise in the study and sees Mrs Black reading Uncle Stephen's book. She says, "I am looking for the car keys". Uncle Stephen comes and tells her that they can look for the keys tomorrow. She tells Mrs Black to go to sleep.

In the morning the children decide to explore the village. They know that they must go home for lunch at one o'clock. There is a post office, a baker’s, a greengrocer’s, a newsagent’s and some other small shops. Max wants to go to a newsagent's to buy something to drink because it’s very hot. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;At&nbsp;the newsagent’s the woman is not very friendly, her eyes are cold. They ask her for two cans of Coke and she asks for the money. Then they leave the place. When they are walking, they meet a man. His name is Martin Knight and he wants to know their names, if they are on holiday, if they are having a nice time and more things. When the children answer all his questions he is surprised because their uncle is Stephen Marel. He is very interested in him.

Mrs. Black is a housekeeper and Mr. Carter is a caretaker. Mr. Carter looks after the cottage and Mrs. Black cleans and organizes the cottage. Mr. Carter likes problems and in the cottage there aren't problems, so he&nbsp;is not very happy. He thinks that Mrs. Black is dangerous.

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;When they come back from Stonehenge, Barbara goes back to the hotel and the others try to open the cottage door but they can’t because the lock is broken. So, they go to the other door and, when they open it, everything is a chaos. So they they think that a thief steals something so mom is worried about her jewels and dad is worried about their money. But nothing is missing. Uncle Stephen is very serious and he explains that he thinks that the thief wants his old book because Stonehenge is like an ancient computer. When Laura and Max are tidying up, Laura finds something like a brooch with a strange symbol in the middle. They take the brooch to uncle Stephen.

Mr.Carter knocks on the door and mum opens it. Mr Carter asks mum, "Do you have a problem?" Mum says no.&nbsp;Mr Carter is angry and sad. He is a caretaker. He has white hair and an angry&nbsp;face. He sees Mrs.Black is coming and sees that she is dangerous. She has a pink face, she is pretty and she is a housekeeper.

           When the twins walk back to the cottage, a tall pretty woman was waiting for them and both of them shout ¨Barbara¨. She&nbsp;is uncle Stephen and Andrew´s family friend. They are going to Stonehenge with her but Mrs Black says that it is only a circle of ancient stones. Stonehenge is near and in twenty minutes they are there. The family&nbsp;use audioguides to know the story of the stones, but Stephen is walking with his book of mysteries. He looks at the three hills and trees surrounding the stones, forming a triangle. Half an hour later, they all go back to the cottage.&nbsp;

Laura and Max go back to the cottage. There is a surprise: a tall, pretty lady is waiting for them in the cottage. The twins are surprised and hug the lady. Her name is Barbara, she is dad and Uncle Stephen’s friend. Later they go to Stonehenge, the trip is 20 minutes from Stonecross. When they arrive in Stonehenge they get an audio guide to listen to the story of the stones, but Uncle Stephen goes the opposite way and he looks at&nbsp;the hills and&nbsp;reads his mystery book.

Laura and Max are twins. They live in London with their mom and dad. Every summer they go on holidays. This summer they go to Stonecross. They stay in a cottage near Salisbury. Max thinks that Stonecross is boring. Dad wants to relax and sleep and mom wants to go because she wants to paint and walk. Mum says that Stonecross is full of mystery, tradition and culture. Now Laura and Max want to go. Uncle Stephen goes with them in his car. Two hours later they arrive in Stonecross. Stonecross is full of flowers , sheep and cows everywhere. They take the cases inside but uncle Stephen is looking into the distance. He looks around him&nbsp;and his face&nbsp;is very serious because Stonehenge is in his book of mysteries.

Mrs Black is preparing dinner then she hears the story of the thief. Suddenly, the telephone&nbsp;rings, it's her son. Mrs Black makes hot chocolate but Laura doesn't&nbsp;want to drink it, so Mrs Black feels offended. Then she goes to the kitchen to prepare hot chocolate for the others. Then they go to sleep, but Laura can´t sleep. Some minutes later she hears a noise, she feels scared but she sees that Mrs Black is in the study. Mrs Black tells Laura that she is looking for her car keys, but Laura knows that Mrs Black doesn't have a car. Then Andrew and Stephen go downstairs. They are&nbsp;very scared.&nbsp;Dad&nbsp;feels happy because he sees that it isn't the thief, it is Mrs Black. But Stephen doesn't&nbsp;laugh&nbsp;because Mrs Black is reading his book. Mrs&nbsp;Black&nbsp;tells them the story of the car keys so they are going to find the keys tomorrow.

At seven o'clock Mrs. Black helps to prepare dinner. Suddenly,&nbsp; a telephone rings, it is Mrs. Black´s mobile phone. She goes to the hall and speaks in a soft voice. Then, she returns. In the evening the family are playing cards together. Mrs. Black goes to the kitchen to make hot chocolate for the family. It is creamy and delicious. Mum wants to know if she has a secret recipe and she knows that Mrs. Black has a secret recipe. Then , the family is sleepy. Mum is dreaming and dad is snoring, but only Laura isn´t tired. Suddenly, she sits up on her bed. She hears a noise, there is somebody downstairs! She gets up quietly and goes to the study and sees Mrs.&nbsp; Black. She is reading the notebook of Uncle Stephen. He and dad arrive at the study. Dad smiles and laughs, but Uncle Stephen doesn't smile or laugh. He doesn't know why Mrs. Black is there. She tells him the story of the car keys and they will look for the keys tomorrow and Mrs. Black goes to her cottage. Then, they go to their bedrooms.

            Max and Laura are twins. Every summer they go to different cities. This summer they are going to stay in a cottage in a village called Stonecross. Max and Laura aren’t very happy. Max&nbsp;says it is boring and he looks at the map. Mum says that Stonecross is&nbsp;a very beautiful&nbsp;part of England,&nbsp;full of culture, tradition and mystery. Now, Laura and Max want&nbsp;to visit the stones. They go in the family car and Uncle Stephen follows them in his old car. He is always reading his old book of mysteries.

Max and Laura decide to explore the village. Max says that he wants one can of Coke and Laura, too. They go to the newsagent's and the shop assistant looks at them with cold eyes. They smile but the shop assistant doesn't smile. She gives them the cans of Coke and they run outside. Max and Laura find a person who knows a lot about uncle Stephen and Max gives a lot of information to him. Laura isn't very happy because he is giving a lot of information to a stranger. Laura says it is time for lunch and they go back to the cottage.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
