In a small village there were rumors that in the forest there was a toad which if someone made fun of it would turn into a ferocious tiger one day at night a man from home went hunting promising that if he found the toad he would pass by and in the forest he found nothing so he began to bother the toad since at first sight there was nothing the toad got angry and magically magically turned into a tiger. he magically turned into a tree and in one stroke he devoured the hunter and his wife went to look for him and when she arrived following his tracks she saw the toad sleeping on top and said "You are going to die for taking my husband" he grabbed his machete and knocked down the tree and the toad regurgitated the man and thanked his wife for saving him the rest of his life he never offended anyone but he never apologized for the toad.

This culture celebrates has a holiday which is called "Fiesta de la chonta" is celebrated by the ripening of the fruits of a palm tree that the Shuar call uwi (chonta).
