Mrs. Hairston is Knollwood's principal. She is proud to be the principal at the most diverse school in the Rowan-Salisbury School District. She has been an educator for over 25 years. Her mission is to serve as a leader whose "actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more!"

Mrs. Ellis is the Assistant Principal at Knollwood. She was born and raised in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. I have lived in 5 different states, Florida, South Carolina, Georgia, Indiana, and now North Carolina.  Her family loves to camp, travel the country, ride motorcycles, and spend summer evenings on a boat.  She has taught and worked with grades K-8th throughout her 25 years in education.

The kindergarten team at Knollwood Elementary School is made up of 5 amazing ladies who work together as a team in all they do. Our teachers and instructional assistants look forward to working with our new kindergarten Knights!

2021-2022 Technology Information

Kindergarten students will use an iPad as a tool for some of their learning.

Students will use the Seesaw app as a learning management system. Parents will have access to it as well.

-Complete your child’s registration by clicking the link in the email or by visiting https://www.rssed.org/registration and clicking on "2021-2022 Kindergarten Registration/New Student Registration." 

-Parents with a student already in RSS should choose "sign-in."

-If this is your first child in RSS choose "create an account."

-You will know it is complete when you can successfully click “submit.”
