Effective Presentations

Be mindful of the speech time requirements. Don't rush your conclusion if you run out of time. Remember if you are focused on your speech's specific goal, moving to the conclusion should be easy... don't worry about getting all the words in your speech. 

If using visual aids Remember to have one idea on a slide. Avoid cluttering the visual with too much information. 

Giving a speech is only a few minutes of your life. Strong preparation and mindful planning will help these minutes be less stressful, and perhaps rewarding. 

Be sure to practice and prepare before you present. Practicing and strong preparation will help you be calmer on your speech day.

As you think about your speech, remember your specific speech goal. One speech goal and the language is adjusted to the specific audience. 

Practice good design when using visual aids. Do a search for CARP (or CRAP) design on google. If the visual does not help your speaking or your speech goal omit it. 

At the beginning of your speech, make sure to have a strong introduction to catch the audience's attention early. 

There isn't time to tell the audience ALL the information about a given topic, keep the focus simple and organized.
