This quote resonates with me as I feel everyone, every once and a while, needs to be reminded that life is not about perfection. This quote reflects to me that there are expectations for someone to be highly skilled at a new thing right away. It is important that we manage expectations but not be discouraged at this! Learning something new is exciting! It is okay to make mistakes and I encourage it because that is how we learn. I think this is an important message to deliver to young students as they learn more about themselves and the world. Courage is an important skill that students need to practice. Art particularly requires courage as the reflective practice requires students to expose themselves. They expose their perspective which says a lot about who a person is. This requires courage. There is great fear in the unknown, but also great excitement, we should encourage this more.
