Tillamook Cheese Factory and Izzy’s Buffet

Tillamook cheese was founded here because there was a large concentration of frustrated farmers that needed to unite to succeed. It went well and now Tillamuk makes cheese, milk, and other dairy products. These are distributed all along the west coast of America now, as their business grows, they deliver to businesses and supermarkets all across the west coast.

There’s a really good Mexican place in Kingston.

On the trip I learned a lot so let me tell you all about it. Non academic/school Firstly I learned a lot about how to choose who you sit next to on the bus. If you don’t really like the person try not to sit next to them. I learned this the hard way although it wasn’t too bad in the first place. It tough me patience and not to be judgemental. Secondly just because your whole class is at one all you can eat restaurant doesn’t mean it’s a free for all and you can make all the noise you want. This only applies to when there are teachers or adults that are willing to act upon it around. Thirdly, don’t try to sleep without a sleeping bag even though it’s nice and warm and the heater is on. Someone will turn the heater off and you will wake up freezing at three in the morning. Fourthly, always bring two bottles of water onto the bus. Dehydration is a thing, even if there’s water on the bus. Fifty, don’t take more than you can eat because I don’t like to not even be able to swallow food in my mouth because my belly has reached maximum capacity. Sixthly, don’t save some food from breakfast for the evening when you’re with a class. With your family you can bring it as a snack for the apex of a hike. Also, don’t yell at wildlife to get a good picture, do the work on the bus, keep your personal items close, take pictures, stay close to the group, don’t climb if you’re with a school group, techno wakes people up, and America has way better/more toys than Canada. Academics/school A lot of the non academics are in reality also school related but these are the most school related things I learned. The most important school wise things I learned were to do work on the bus. Not only do work on the bus but when you have time to write about something that you had to write about then just do it, and the bus is one of the best places to do it on. Here are the reasons why. Firstly, we spent about a quarter to a sixth of our time on it. This means lots of time to do work. Also there’s nothing else to do. You can’t research because there’s no wifi, there’s not much to chat about unless you want to gossip about some stuff (I don’t know the art of gossiping about mundane things). And secondly, where else? After the trip when you’ve forgotten everything? So on the bus, or in the yurt if the teachers let you spend your waking hours in the yurt.

The trip felt like it would never end...

Now to fun, because fun first. I think that if the trip would have made a great vacation if there hadn’t been the work that we had to do whenever we had spare time. But we were having fun and we went to about as many restaurants as I go to in two or three years with most of those being places like “A&amp;W” (fast food places) and almost all of the ones we went to on the trip only served junk food or at a minimum really sweet food. It was also fun because we got to discover new places and it’s always fun when you get to go somewhere new, especially when that place isn’t just a field or some town in the middle of Oregon with nothing in it. But the most fun thing of them all was the activities. We got to go to beaches and while the others were doing stuff that got boring after about five minutes I built dams and made my own little stream which I could do whatever I waned with. At one place, mainly the Hatfield Marine Science Center we got to build houses out of LEGO bricks. But then we found Duplos at another exhibition and they stuck to the LEGO baseplate and we built dams out of those. The best places were the places where we got to do quests. At some of the places we visited we would get into assigned groups and get a sheet.  The sheet would tell us clues to find letters for words on the page these were the puzzles or rather the quests. We got to do quests and they were fun when we solved them and got to go to places unsupervised. They were especially fun when we solved them or thought we had solved them and went to cool places because of that. In all the trip was a lot funner than normal school.

Travelling South ... The US/Canada border ... ... Still traveling south.. ... a stop at Cabela&apos;s? Nope! More travelling ... Are we there yet? ... Food ... ... We’re there!!!!

I chose this video because I did this page on the bus and didn’t have any other videos. It shows how boring it is to travel through west Washington. If you think about it then you might figure out that on that day we were all very bored. That’s because on that day we drove all the way from North Vancouver, BC, Canada to Astoria, Oregon, USofA.

Hatfield Marine Science Center Animal Adaptations

Animals have to adapt to survive. Examples of this are found throughout nature. For example take us. Humans evolved alongside monkeys from fish but we didn’t stop. Instead of evolving to climb trees we took a path on the ground. The monkeys were all good because they were the only predators there, but the humans had to compete. They couldn’t just fight, because they were weaker but they also couldn’t run, so they needed to outsmart the enemy. So we got smarter and here we are. With fire, heating, cars, democracy and airplanes.

Hatfield Marine Science Center R.O.V. Challenge

We first off drew an approximate draft of what we wanted our ROV to look like and where the parts should go. We did that on our iPads. Then when the time came, we started to build the frame. It was square but it did it’s job of protecting the rotors which were within it. We then put all the machinery into it. After that, all we did was make it better and attach the magnet that would pick up treasure. Then it was ready for the next step.

This step was done in freezing water because of the freezing weather we were working in. It was to put floatation devices on it so it would stay still in the water. After that, we just had to plug it in and it was ready to drive.

Hatfield Marine Science Center Assemble a Whale

We worked together because every one of us delivered a peace and sought to put it into place with the help of people who specialized in that field. This worked well. We also had the teachers to motivate the slackers. We finished the whale quickly and then the professor judged and made some slight changes of where the ribs are.

Cannon Beach is most well known for the Haystick Rock. It is sometimes called the home to largest intertidal rock in the world.

Columbia River Maritime Museum First Nations Section

At first when there were only few Europeans in America. They traded, but some of them killed the First Nations and raped the First Nations women. They also got the First Nations sick with their deceases and might have taken them as slaves as well. For trades Europeans at first traded skins of animals for tobacco and food. The Europeans introduced residential schools. With the residential schools the Europeans or white Americans erased First Nations culture and only the most separated, hard to get to, and far-away First Nations could preserve their culture. The European style globalization of that time was also very different as it supported the economy of a whole country and not just a small town. In Europe not everybody and everything that contributes to another knows about another and in Native America your village of 100-1000 is your whole economy and you somewhat know everybody.

The tsunami machine shows everyone how they have to donate because the center can’t even afford proper lego bricks which are estimated to cost about 5 cents each. This will make visitors and tourists more inclined to donate money to the center. It also shows them the way that a tsunami is made. It’s a place of learning. The reason why they use lego is of course for the play.

 I love lego and so does almost every kid below the age of ten. The legos would also be fun for architects to find the most structurally sound building.

I learned that the Americans made some forts in Canada and that the Japanese didn‘t attack the US coast as many times as I thought. As a matter of fact, the Japanese only attacked America twice. The only attack on the American mainland was one submarine around the mouth of the Columbia River. We also learned that the American military CORPS build most of the infrastructure in America that isn’t just straight road or railroad.

I would cross the bar on an easier river than the Columbia river and then cross the bar when I have a little more experience. I’d also cross the bar if I had a coast guard ship and there were good conditions. The third and final way I’d cross the Columbia River bar is if I’m driving an overly big ship. These are all ways which lower the possibility of me dying. If I were to go in a less sturdy boats in worse conditions then I most likely wouldn’t. Especially not in 60 foot high waves.

ONLY PROFESSIONALS CAN CROSS THE SAFELY

Our group worked like an oiled machine. Except for our average speed and the reading of the booklet. We also didn’t think about the clues and just went with what the clew reader told us. We did stick to our positions and helped when we could. We were also well minded of each other. We will do better next time because we know what we did wrong. We went without thinking, we just went with the first thought that popped into our heads.

The rocks at the beach at Yaquina Head are special! The locals for that very reason don’t want people to take them home. But the rocks aren’t special because of their perfectly circular shapes or the fact that you can skip them with ease but for a very different and unique reason. The reason is that the rocks are made from magma or lava from Yellowstone when it erupted 60,000 years ago. It was so big that the magma flowed all the way to there and now there’s a magma beach.

I want to see a bear because I haven‘t seen one in quiet a bit of time and Ms Willemse will go crazy about us walking slowly away from it and doing exactly the right thing. I also like the furry giants and want to have a picture with one in the wild. It would be really cool if a crazy American gets the bear to stand up and even cooler if the bear fake attacks him. I‘ve never seen a bear pup up close so that would be cool too.

green crabs   VS  purple crabs Looking at the results, I’d say that the greens were slower with 1.18 minutes whereas the purples were faster with 57 seconds average time per run.

Depoe Bay is known as the worlds  smallest navigatable harbor. On March 11, 2011, the port was damaged by a tsunami caused by an earthquake off the coast of Japan.

We are the bus train that goes on asphalt but really should run on rails.

I think the center is important because it saves animals that are hurt and protects the ones that aren’t. This doesn’t do a lot for the country or even the state but in the area it makes sure that the animal population does not get devastated or dies out. So it’s great for the community. If they were to be built in mass and always sheltered endangered animals no matter what the animal, then no creature would go extinct. It holds a lot of animals within it. It can house multiple endangered pieces at a time. This kind of enclosure is also good enough to be a ZOO because of the small enclosures some animals have instead of big shared ones. It is interesting and educational.

It tasted like it wasn’t just made to go and they actually put effort into the food.

Dairy Queen food is the worst I’ve eaten in all the time that I’ve ever been in the USA. It tastes so bad because of the sheer amount of sugar that’s in the food and the lack of any natural ingredients. 

The Astoria Column is 125 feet tall and is covered on the outside by a painting that depicts West American history.

I‘m going to make a historical monument to get more people to take the train over to Astoria!

C r a z y

People who live in and operate/own businesses in rural areas depend on us because these businesses don‘t get as much business or money from locals. I don’t know why we go there or if we go there just to support the small town business. Maybe just because we were staying nearby but I’d say that it’s so that we know about small businesses in rural areas and their dependence on tourism. This way the business owners earn enough  money to stay open.
