I was born in 2084, a few days after the natural disaster, The Hawaii’s government had foreseen the incident but the others had not believed them, we are the last survivors thanks to our barrier. Our government is the last one standing. The solar storm destroyed everything… I was a normal teenager, I went to school every day and at night I went back to my apartment. I lived alone since my mother mysteriously disappeared 2 years ago and I never knew my father because he was abroad during the disaster. Despite the tensions, our society has rebuilt itself well, there are no more socio-spatial inequalities and the government was stable, with the exception of a certain rebellion that seeked to take power. I don't understand why this rebellion was fighting, my mother always said that the government did everything for us to survive and we wouldn't still be here today without it. The insurgencies of these thugs were multiplying day by day, which pushed the government police to act. That day, I was on my way home from school, I had gone to the supermarket to buy what I needed for the week.

As I approached my apartment, I saw a tall man wearing a short-sleeved jacket and a brown T-shirt.  He seemed to be on alert, looking from right to left every five seconds. As he wipes the sweat from his forehead with his arm I saw a tattoo on the back of his hand that immediately caught my attention. A sun, the symbol  of rebellion. I decided to immediately turn around but it was too late, our eyes met. I pretended not to have seen anything and started to walk away from my home to come back a little later when he would be gone. However, he shouted something in the distance that stopped me suddenly. “Kaleo ! Wait !”. How did he know my name ?  The mysterious man approached myself and asked me “You’re Kaleo right ?”.
He explained everything to me even if I wasn’t sure that I understood. My mom was the leader of the rebellion and the government killed her. Impossible… My mom always praised the Government. He added that my mother was always talking about me to her colleagues, and that she lied about the government in order to preserve and protect me. Afterwards, he introduced himself to me. He didn’t give me his real name but he asked to call him “The owl”, he was the right-hand man of the leader. He knelt down in front of me and implored me to take over from my mother. Full of rage and thirsting for revenge, I accepted without hesitation. I felt that everyone had lied to me, my mother, the government...everyone… The tensions between the government and our rebellion grew up quickly. After one year of training, we elaborated a plan in order to escape the city that became our jail.

One night, when the city had fallen asleep due to a power outage, we took advantage of this situation and we crossed without difficulty the electromagnetic barrier that had held us captive for years. Our scientist has been studying this barrier for over a decade for this very moment, we have passed the point of no return. A strange emotion came over me the moment I put my first foot outside. I was relieved and… FREE. Nonetheless, the work wasn’t finished. Our goal wasn’t only to get out but also to free the population to create a new world. I understood that when I saw the emotionless faces of my colleagues. We walked for hours and days in the desert, fortunately we prepared ourselves for that. We didn't run out of food and we quickly reached the edge of the island. My mother used to tell me that this place was called a beach, a heavenly place where families were going for holidays. But what I saw was different.
