People in Manley Hot Springs don’t get out much in the winter because it is so cold and dark. However, once spring comes, our village comes to life.

In early spring, around mid-February, the Crafter’s Guild hosts an Ice Cream Social. They make ice cream sundaes, milk shakes, and bowls of ice cream for the community to get together and socialize.

Towards the end of February, the Iron Dog Snow Machine Race comes through Manley Hot Springs. People volunteer during the race to help the racers get gas, rest, and to fix the snow machines.

Sometimes in early March, the Iditarod comes through Manley Hot Springs. The mushers will rest their dogs out near Twin Lakes and then sleep at the school or the Community Hall. The last time this happened was in the year 2017.
