... to this semester´s English course!

BUSINESS ENGLISH I

This semester, special focus will be placed on Business English language.

In particular, we´ll discuss the following topics:

- work and motivation
- applying for a job
- CVs and job interviews
- meetings and negotiations

We´ll try to work on your reading, writing, speaking and listening skills and there will be plenty of time to practise and talk about your own experiences.

I do look forward to an interesting semester!

To get a positive grade, you´ll have to earn more than 50% of the points in three different sections.

CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT

PROJECT WORK

The overall grade consists of three different sections.

Here´s the grading scale:

50% or below: Not sufficient
>50% - 65%: Sufficient
>65% - 80%: Satisfactory
>80% - 90%: Good
>90% - 100% Very good

Accounts for 30% of your total grade.

Takes place on either 31st January or 1st February 2023.

Consists of a mock meeting / negotiation.

Accounts for 30% of your final grade.

Consists of 4 different tasks:

- vocab work (Quizlet)
- participation
- two collaborative tasks

Everything is described in detail on moodle.

Accounts for 40% of your final grade.

You´ll have to write a CV, a covering letter and create an application video.

WHERE AND HOW?

We´ll meet face-to-face, online and use moodle, MS Teams, Quizlet and other tools for communication and tasks.
