A great game to revise spoken language on any topic - good fun &amp; slightly competitive!

Variation: Use a bag of props &amp; learners have to find the item linked to their word &amp; wear it!

Want a challenge? Instead of a hat, use flashcards with written words/phrase and learners have to find the correct word/phrase when they hear it. Try putting the word/phrases into a story!

Learn Spanish at home

Key vocabulary: número uno, número dos etc - number 1, 2 etc &nbsp; equipo uno, equipo dos - team 1, team 2 &nbsp; pon la pelota en el sombrero - put the ball in the hat &nbsp; un punto, dos puntos etc - 1 point, 2 points etc

Share your work: Explain how to play the game in English &amp; say key words in another language. Remember - be simple &amp; clear.

Task: To teach a younger class a traditional playground game &amp; then play it to revise vocabulary on a topic eg. colours, numbers, weather, animals etc

1) Choose a game &amp; play it a few times to make sure you know the rules.

2) Create a set of instructions &amp; write them out/say them out-loud. Are they in the right order? Check if someone else understands them.

3) Play around with different props to demo your game - lego men, figurines, dolls, action man, drawings etc. 

Step 4 - Check the final product to make sure you're happy with it. Make any changes. Save your work to your Library. Then it's time to share your work. The video will be on your camera roll. Share it via email or copy the link to share it.

Step 1 - Download the <a href="https://piccollage.com/">PicCollage App</a> &amp; <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zR4TtDOa1k">watch this video</a> about how to use it.

What do I do?

Step 3 - Use the App to create your collage. You can take photos using the App or upload ones you have already taken. If your pictures have no words, try adding words in another language using the App. Add stickers, change the layout and add a title.

Step 2 - Summarise your game by drawing a picture/pictures of it &amp; add key words. Then take a photo of it/them. Or you might like to take photos whilst you are playing the game. Ensure these are saved to the device you are using with the PicCollage App.

1) Decide how you are going to share your work, whether it will be spoken or written &amp; in what language. If there are photos of learners, please ensure you have the necessary permissions to share online in your school community &amp; beyond.

2) A <a href="https://en-gb.padlet.com/">padlet</a> is a great way to share work and you can upload work to it in different formats (ie. text, photo, audio). Sign up &amp; get 3 free padlets. Share your work with the 1+2 DO in your authority by adding a post to the authority padlet with the name of your school &amp; hyperlink it to your padlet.

A great game as a warm up or plenary for any lesson - inside or outside. 

Top tips: Encourage all learners to chant the words with the caller to practise. Introduce phrases like schnell - quickly or give praise eg. great - toll!

Step 2 - Think about how to explain the main rules of the game to someone else in English. You might want to have some key words in another language. Are they the same? 2) Decide what language you want to practise &amp; teach learners the key vocabulary. 3) Have a go at playing the game to practise the core vocabulary! 4) Decide how you are going to share what you have done with others (read on for some ideas), what language learners will use &amp; who you are going to share it with.
