Poems 

This was what’s called a “found poem”, this is when you take a form of text and change it around a bit in order to give it a slightly different mood, feeling or message. 

Time is like a clock, your unaware of it until you stop and think about it. It can be lost, it can be found, but what matters is how you use it. Time is like money, it can be taken and spent traded with someone els. Time is like gold, its worth a lot but you chose to either keep it or trade it in. In my opinion Time is the base of everyone’s lives and without it your life can be very miserable.

This poem is about the worldview aspect of time because it is to me the most influential part of someone’s worldview 

Here I stand in a forest The sound of the birds and the bees The sent of the flowers and nature around me The sight of the world in front of me The feel of the ground beneath my feet The taste of the fresh air Nature at its finest

This is an example of a simile poem that compares different words with each other. I compared each aspect of worldview with a real life object 

I wrote this poem because I don’t think people my age go outside and just enjoy the world much nowadays 

Ring ring ring, goes my alarm Stomp Stomp Stomp down the stairs Vroom Vroom goes the car Ding goes the bell, right on time Ding goes the bell as I leave Step Step Step all the way home Creek goes the door Flump on the sofa I think about this everlasting loop

This poem is very self explanatory, it is about who I am and the type of personality I have 

This is a personification poem which is when you take a non living object or idea and describe it as if it were human 

I am me I like the rain I like the shine But what is most sublime Is when I look at the world and truly say “I like it here” There are many things that I enjoy Like some hot chocolate Or a brand new phone But the things I most enjoy doing, I can’t deny Are the simple things like biking and skiing and gaming with friends But the real question is what type of person am I I share my opinion openly when asked but don&apos;t Go around stating it like a news broadcast I care about many things like my family and friends But there are also things I don&apos;t realy care about, it depends Like most stuff I hear on the news because a weird part about my personality Is that I don&apos;t care about what’s out of my control That is who I think I am.

This poem is about a time when I got lost in Walmart when I was around six, at the time it was very scary because I was quite shy and had no form of communication. This is also the experience poem I wrote during this project 

He was tall but and slow and swayed like a tree. I couldn’t quite tell if he was realy happy. The look on his face so neutral yet told a thousand stories I tried to cheer him up by asking to high five And to my surprise he respectfully obliged. And in the split second my hand met his I felt sad and happy and and everything in between I felt cold and thoughtful and had a random spark of hope. Then it all went away I engaged in conversation and seemed so polite yet whatever i talked about He had a strong opinion. He sounded wise and kind of quiet And after every conversation he fell completely silent Eventually I asked “who are you?” And he replied quite calmly “I’m your worldview”

This poem shows using sounds basically my daily school week routine  

December it must have been Entering was the easy part The store was busy, filled with shoppers As I walked into Walmart with my family It was a large store with many different sections We made some wrong turns and needed some corrections The dim light shining through the windows As the sun started to set Then I saw in wonder to my 6 year old eye a great big TV Playing a movie I watched for awhile till I turned around and what do I know There’s no parents to be found I look around in panic in hopes they weren’t to far but I had no luck, I was lost I ran through the aisles turning left turning right but what do you know, no parents in sight I was there for ten minutes till I checked the fruit section and what do I see but my family searching for me It was a scary experience for a six year old kid but in the end it felt realy quite quick

I’m Patrick Jelstad, I’m grade 9 here at Seycove in the PLP program. I’m not a very complicated person, and personally I think that mostly I just go with the flow of things and don’t tend to overthink my problems and care to much about them. This book will feature pomes that I have written during the PLP working with words project. They are mostly about aspects of my world view and things that reflate to them. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoyed writing them!

Take wrong turns. Talk to strangers. Open unmarked doors. And if you see a group of people in a field, Go find out what they are doing. Do things without Always knowing how they will turn out. Your curios and smart and bored, and all you see is the choice between working hard and slacking off. There are so many adventures that you miss because you’re waiting to think of a plan. To find them. Look for tiny interesting choices. And remember that you are always making up the future as you go.

This was a poem that i decided to write because it showed some key aspects of my worldview and the people on our planet
