Have you ever wondered, “is climate action global?” Well it sure is. People should know climate action is global because Antarctic is slowly melting, it’s harder to grow crops at farms, and it’s more tough for coastal areas.
People should know climate action is global because Antarctica is slowly melting. An example is most polar bears are be forced to go to land because of the ice melting and when they go to land they are more vulnerable to us humans. Another example is since 1984 Antarctica had 6.81 million sq. km. of ice and snow, but now Antarctica has only 3.92 million sq. km. of ice and snow left. This shows me that Antarctica will eventually be gone in the future.
People should know climate action is global because it’s harder to grow crops at farms. Margaret M. Ziegler states, “If the current trends are not altered, by 2050 climate change could decrease global maize yields by up to 18 percent, rice yields could drop by 7 percent, and wheat yields could decline by up to 36 percent.” Another example is that food price are estimated to go up. With so many heat waves and droughts it makes it much harder on farmers to grow food. And since it will be harder to harvest crops food will become more valuable.
People should know climate action is global because it’s getting more tough for coastal areas. An example is more and more coastal areas are getting more and harsher storms, with more storms living on a beach may seem more dangerous then you’d think, and with fish dying in the ocean it’s harder to catch them which means a little less food for the people that live there. Another example is scientists have observed sea levels rising since 1980. This proves that some places far in the future my eventually be covered in water.
People should know climate action is global because Antarctica is slowly melting, it’s harder to grow crops at farms, and it’s getting more tough for coastal areas. This shows me that if we all united as one we can stop climate action.
