Pupils´ self-evaluation

Each month we focused on a different topic. We introduced our own country in a series of short presentations in English. Each partner school posted its presentation  in the Twinspace. Then partner schools  commented on the uploaded documents&nbsp;from which they prepared questions for our board game.

These were the topics: - General information about the countries - Music - Traditions - World famous celebrities - Cultural objects, brands and superstitions - Languages - Top landmarks - Food

Students talked about our cultures in the third meeting

Finally the four partner teachers, Czech students and the Turkish students met online to share their feelings, wishes and to play the games they created.

In our seventh online meetings we talked about our native tongues.

It was interesting to learn phrases of our partners´language and also funny to learn some tongue twisters!

- 18 Italian students - 15 Turkish students - 10 Greek students - 15 Czech students

We had a great online discussion about our national meals.

The topic of November was music and the pupils focused on: This is what we will focus on: traditional music (folk music), 3 famous singers from the past, 3 famous singers nowadays, anthem, learning a very easy song The topic of December were traditions.

The teachers defined their roles, everyone was responsible for his tasks but still they were working collaboratively

This is what we focused on in January - celebrities. 2 sportspeople 1&nbsp;film star 1 scientist 1 leader

A month later we introduced&nbsp;some&nbsp;brands/objects/products&nbsp;and&nbsp;superstitions&nbsp;of our countries. &nbsp;We showed: 5 brands/objects/products and 5 superstitions.

We wanted to remember that we were united during the pandemic so we kept on working together for our goal, the boardgame. That´s why we decided to create a collaborative poster.

Here goes the winner... from Turkey so this is our official project logo.

We are very proud to announce that we reached the project goals despite the pandemic and distance learning. The students produced board games about partner cultures,&nbsp;created question stereotypes about their neighbouring countries and influenced their attitude about English language learning in a positive way.

Let's get to know what other European countries are like!

Four partner schools decided to make an interesting project called LET´S GET ON BOARD! learning about various aspects of their cultures. The original names had its connection to the the output of the project as its aim was to create a collaborative board game. Metaphorically saying the four partner schools got on the deckboard sailing together to reach its harbour - that was to carry out the project sucessfully till its end.

First, we wanted to find a proper logo for our project. Each student created his own logo so we had five best logos of each country. Then we voted online choosing the best one for our project.

In March we intended to cover the topic of languages: - the classification of our language - its history - grammar and alphabet - basic words and loanwords - basic phrases - tongue twister But due to Covid19 we concentrated on words that were frequently spelled and we tried to compare them.

It was the Italian teacher Caterina Bastianello.

They were the Turkish teacher Kerim Sivrikaya, the Greek teacher Athina Garbola and the Czech teacher Jana Losíková.

Our fourth meeting was very interesting as we talked about our cultural objects and superstitions.

All the teachers had online meetings to share their impressions and to shape details before applying for QL

To make sure we followed the plan and  carried out the tasks we created The Check list

In May students´ favourite topic was FOOD.

We shared information about our typical food, including breakfast, fruit grown, local products etc.

This is an example of our collaborative work.

Our online meeting about our top landmarks was again so great! We definitely want to visit our partners´ beautiful places!

Of course we played students´ favourite games in Kahoot.

All the students were given diploma of appreciation for their hard work

We disseminated the information about our project and result at our school, noticeboards, social sites, school webs, school magazines, local newspaper ...
