Japan Dining Experience
Last year, I went to Japan for a study trip. I went there with my friends and school mates, we stayed there for two weeks.
I was really excited going to Japan. I could play with my friends. My dad and mom reminded me not to get lost and always remember to respect the Japanese culture.
Before Getting There
Seating
I was surprised that Japanese people sit on tatami when they have dinner. But in HK we sit around the table with chairs. It was a very fresh and an unforgettable experience to me.

Iconic Dishes
I was amazed that most Japanese people enjoy eating sushi, tempura and ramen, but in HK our iconic dishes are dimsim and rice. I like ramen, sushi and udon :)

Utensils
I was shocked that most Japanese people use spoons and chopsticks. Similarly, in HK we use chopsticks to eat and hold the bowls with our hands. My mom told me not to put the chopstick vertically on the bowl because it looks like a candle.

Table Manner
I was shocked that most Japanese people make noises when they eat ramen,but in HK cannot make noise and cannot play game during dinner. The sound that they made was a respect to the cook. It means the food is tasty.
