PROJECT DESCRIPTION
"Around the World in 180 Days" is a project that enabled international cooperation between students from different countries. Through various missions devoted to geographical regions, participants learned about the culture, customs and fauna of the world. The project was distinguished by an innovative approach, using artificial intelligence to create fairy tale texts and illustrations, as well as modern tools such as book creator, padlet, wakelet, GPT chat, Canva platform and many others. Participants acquired not only knowledge, but also artistic, technological and intercultural skills through art work, creating animal encyclopedias and experimenting with new forms of expression. Challenges such as Aboriginal art and African mask making added cultural depth to the project. Additionally, quizzes and games served as interactive educational tools, and working together on an animal encyclopedia revealed the diversity of fauna in the world. The project provided innovative educational tools, developing understanding of the world's cultural and geographical diversity.
Introductory tasks
Goals: interest in the project's subject, preparation for further tasks and getting to know partners.
Task description:
- Interactive Book about Continents: Participants were introduced to an interactive book containing basic information about each continent. Thanks to this, they could deepen their geographical knowledge in an interesting and accessible way.
- Games and Quizzes: Various games and quizzes were organized that not only helped participants gain knowledge but also made learning fun. Quizizz was used for initial evaluation, allowing the participants to test their initial geographical skills.
- Self-Portrait Gallery: Participants created a self-portrait gallery together, which allowed them to get to know each other better and emphasize their diversity.
- Fun with Google Earth: Participants were introduced to the fascinating world of Google Earth, where they could explore various corners of the globe and discover the secrets of distant and close places.
- Online Meeting and Mental Map: An online meeting was organized with students, during which a mental map was created together on the Canva platform. It acted as a space for sharing first associations with given continents.
- Initial Evaluation - Quizizz: An online quiz was introduced, which allowed participants to test their knowledge of geography and adapt further activities to their level of understanding.
- These introductory tasks not only prepared participants for the project, but also built an atmosphere of cooperation, fun and interaction, which was crucial for the later stages of cooperation.
