ENCYCLOPEDIA Alligators
Alligators, like other crocodiles, are large animals with powerful tails that are used both in defense and in swimming. Alligators are carnivores and live along the shores of permanent bodies of water such as lakes, swamps and rivers. The average lifespan of alligators in the wild is around 50 years.
Alligators are large animals with a very strong tail, which is both a drive during swimming and a defense tool. They have the widest snout of all crocodiles. On the top of their massive head are the eyes, ears and nostrils, protruding above the surface of the water, while the rest of the alligator's body is submerged.
