Science Fun Magic Milk

Magic Milk Science Experiment

You will need: a shallow dish or plate, milk, a selection of food colouring, cotton buds and washing up liquid.

This is a fun drawing game for all of the family and allows each person to build off of the previous persons drawings.&nbsp;It's low key, needs very few resources yet is interactive. This back-and-forth drawing game is a fun way to connect through creativity. It also makes a good waiting game at restaurants or the doctor’s surgery. 1) gather a pen or pencil and some paper. 2) Think of a theme e.g. a person 3) Take it in turns to draw parts of the picture and see how it turns out!

1) Gather together rope or wool and sticks of similar size. 2) Click on the two links for knots and square lashing or look on the Internet for different knots and tying techniques – there are lots to choose from. 3) Try to master different ways to tie knots. Perhaps you could challenge one of your grown-ups to a knot tying race! 4) You could make a frame for a natural piece of art by lashing four sticks together.

Our Learning Behaviours!

At school we have six learning behaviours that help us with out learning.

Kanga - she helps us to look after our friends and our environment and tidy away. Piglet - he helps us to be brave and try new things. Eeyore - he helps us to think creatively to solve a problem.

Winnie the Pooh - he helps us to problem solve and to explain our thinking. Owl - he helps us to think about what we have done whether it is reading, writing, maths or playing and reflect on how we could do it better next time. Tigger - he helps us to be resilient and bounce back when things are a little tricky.

As we get closer to September, there are more historical figures who we would love to teach you about. One of these famous historians is Grace Darling. 

Fun and Games for All the Family On the Pirate Ship

Shiver me timbers – this game is all about remembering and following instructions. Start with 4 easy commands: Port – Run to the left, Starboard – Run to the right, Main Deck – run to the middle of the space, Scrub the Decks – Down on their knees and scrub the floor.&nbsp; As you progress through the game, you can start adding some new instructions or make up your own: Attention – Stand up straight and salute, Captain’s Quarters – Run to the captain (teacher/coach), Captain’s Coming – Everyone shouts “aye aye captain”&nbsp;

Bright ideas border

1) Pour some&nbsp;milk&nbsp;into a shallow dish or bowl until the&nbsp;milk&nbsp;covers the bottom. 2) Add some drops of food coloring on the&nbsp;milk. You can use a variety of colors, just be sure to add 3-4 drops of each color. 3) Add a drop of dish soap into the center of the&nbsp;milk by either dripping it in or using a cotton bud soaked in soap. 4) Don’t forget to take some photos or videos of your creations.
