The Tongass National Forest in Alaska is the largest temperate forest in the whole world and the largest national forest in the United States. This rain forest is a gorgeous place while still being huge. Tongass National Forest spans 17 million acres in Southern Alaska. Tongass is home to over 70,000 people and is a home for clans of indigenous peoples that have been there for thousands of years. In Tongass there are 19 wilderness areas where people can be guided through glorious hikes and wonderful trails. There are also plenty of amazing monuments you can visit in Tongass. This amazing forest is a great place that needs to be saved because it is already being destroyed but can still be saved.

Tongass National Forest has wonderful wildlife that lives inside of the glorious forest. Tongass has wildlife including, Sitka black tail deer, wolves, brown bears, black bears, moose, and mountain goats. But those were just land animals, there is plenty of sea life in Tongass to, this includes: harbor seals, orcas, sea otters, humpback and minke whales, five different species of Pacific salmon, and halibut. In addition, Tongass has the largest wild salmon population in the world. Tongass also has more bald eagles than anywhere in the in the world. Tongass also has a lot of more species of birds like the Marbled Murrelet. Another cool thing about Tongass' wildlife is that Tongass has a bat that is smaller than a man's hand. The little brown bat has a wingspan of 8 to 11 inches. But the little brown bat ranges all across North America, ranging as south as north Mexico and as north as south Canada.

Chapter 3: Plant-life in The Tongass
The plant life in Tongass National Forest is amazing, with giant trees reaching hundreds of feet in the air and beautiful flowers all over the forest floor. When walking through the Tongass it feels like you are walking among giants because of the Sitka spruce and many other trees. Also, while walking through Tongass a burst of red, blue, green, purple and many other colors of flowers are on the forest floor. The plant life in Tongass is beautiful and even the fungi can be beautiful in its own ways. In addition, the great sundew and the roseroot may be ugly to some people, but it is still beautiful in its own way.

Chapter 4: Wonders of Tongass
There's a major resource in Tongass National Forest. It is wild salmon. Salmon is enjoyed all around the world. Tongass National Forest has the largest wild salmon population in the whole world so that’s where most salmon gets caught from. Salmon is a very important to a lot of people because salmon is the top fish choice for many people. Salmon is also a need for many restaurants to have a premier fish that is friendly to people who have not tried sushi or seafood before.
